Emi is long gone but Rick is a fascinating character who runs a very convivial izakaya. Years ago she was a dancer in New York and still speaks English with a Bogart accent (hence the name). She's also willing to humor you in Japanese. Great food and beverage at very reasonable prices. Loyal crowd of regulars always friendly with newcomers. If you are looking for a somewhat oddball venue in Asagaya, this may be your place.
