Visited the Studio before. What a fine experience it was. A unique place to work as an artist. But also to learn about some authentic Japanese lifestyle.

Shiro Oni residency program offers a place to connect with new people in the picturesque town of Onishi, in rural Japan. My time there in 2019 was spent meeting beautiful people, making pots, firing the anagama/'Chiakigama' kiln, bike rides in the countryside, going to the onsen... to name just a few things. I can't recommend this experience highly enough!

I had the very good fortune to be part of Shiro Oni residency in 2018 and 2019. It was a wonderful place to create art, meet fellow artists, engage with the lovely residents of Onishi and immerse myself in the exquisite Japanese culture. Kjell Hahn, the founder and director of the residency, has created an amazing sanctuary for artists who want to go deeper into their work while having the time of their lives!!!
