百間堀園地（旧沈床園）の特徴
日本で最も大きな木造城、金沢城を間近に見られる場所です。
庭園との散策が楽しめる、花見スポットとしておすすめです。
石川門や美しい石垣を眺めながら過ごせる絶景スポットです。
After finishing the walk at kenrokuen, the walk continued to the castle park to discover some of the castle buildings, which are all rebuilt. The structure is more modern looking, but we didn't go inside any of it. The grounds has less trees so you get to see more of the blue sky with the castle buildings.
百間堀園地は緑豊かな公園石垣や塀を鑑賞しながら散策しました。人も少なく落ち着いた感じです。
Entered the park by mistake to get away from the rain and snow, interesting scenery with coffee shop inside. Didn't manage to see all of ot due to the weather, but got a taste of how castle grounds were made in the past.
The largest wooden castle in Japan built since 1648. Free entry. Worth walking around to see how the walls were made and much less busy than other castles in Japan. With going as well to the nearby Kenrokuen Garden!

石川門を眺めるのに良いです。
金沢城は南東から続く台地の、先端に築かれました。そのため、標高の高い南東から攻められる事が予想されていました。それを防御するため、台地を切り開き幅70m程の水堀が作られました。
