周辺のオススメ
IYK has been an awesome experience for my child. Our colleagues had their daughter attend and they really enjoyed it. We also heard from many people that IYK is an academically rigorous and one of the more prestigious kindergartens in Sapporo. Admission is very competitive as most of their students are admitted from their preschool programs (Bear and Elephant classes) or had older siblings attend.We started off attending the once a week Bear preschool class which gives you priority admission to their kindergarten. Since we moved to Sapporo during covid, it was great to meet other moms in Bear class. If I didn’t go to this class, I don’t know if I would have gotten to know other parents and my child’s classmates.There are very few foreigner families at IYK but the school has been so accommodating in sending us all documents translated into English. All of the teachers we have met have been so kind and engaging. IYK also have native English speaking teachers so kids really do get the immersion experience. We opted for the standard Japanese class as we wanted our daughter to be immersed in Japanese and also have door-to-door pick-up/drop-off bus service. In 2022, they will have bus service for all classes so that would be convenient for many families (I heard it will be pick-up points and not door-to-door). They also offer swimming (there’s a pool in the basement of the building) and music classes.I highly recommend this kindergarten as my child has thrived in the wonderful and warm school community here!!
