Nakaya Vacation House is a true hidden gem on Itsukushima (Miyajima Island).Tucked just one street behind the island’s main shopping promenade, the location is unbeatable—peaceful and private, yet moments from the heart of it all.The property itself is beautifully maintained, radiating a sense of calm and care the moment you arrive. The owner welcomes guests as if into her own home, and her deep knowledge of the island—earned through years of living there—adds immeasurable value to the stay. From timely updates on weather and tides (so you can witness the iconic torii gate in all its moods) to thoughtful recommendations on dining and local experiences, her guidance feels both intuitive and generous.The rooms are immaculate and inviting, and the bath is an absolute highlight—luxuriously comforting after a full day spent exploring the island on foot.This was our second stay, having visited once before, and the feeling of returning was unmistakable: familiar, warm, and genuinely homelike. Nakaya Vacation House isn’t just somewhere to stay—it’s somewhere you belong. We will most certainly be back.
Great host who is very friendly and provided helpful advice. Whole tradition Japanese house with 4 single western beds and traditional Japanese dining room up stairs.

This is the second time i came there and it is a pleasure to meet the woman in charge. She is caring a lot for her guests and really helpful too.The apparemment is really great. Mind the head when you move thought rooms like all traditional houses.You can't be as kind as your host in this place but please be as kind as you can.
Great location, lovely traditional room (as well as western beds), and simply wonderful host.We requested an early check-in, but had to change arrival time twice, but Rie-san was happy to accommodate us.Her local knowledge, excellent english, and assistance with booking a restaurant made our stay much better than expected.On Itsukujima (Miyajima island) there is limited accommodation, so Nakaya B&B is very good value for money.Stay the night and see the Floating Gate wothout the thousands of tourists getting into you photos
Une maison traditionnelle très bien entretenue. Nous y avons séjourné entre amis (une maison adaptée pour 6 personnes). La maison est très bien située au calme mais proche de la rue commerçante et de l'arrivée du ferry.Une hôte adorable, souriante et de très bons conseils qui nous a permis de découvrir une partie de l'île et un bon restaurant.Rapport Qualité / Prix vraiment bon.
