Highly recommended. There are several Japanese style rooms, and the hostess is a great cook who brings you dinner into the room. She had to leave early but left us a good breakfast. She was so kind that she called us about some items that we accidentally left behind and promised to bring them to our next location.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The kind hostess was away at her job but left us a note so we were able to let ourselves in and have a much appreciated shower. Later, when she arrived home, she kindly made us a hearty dinner. Our downstairs room was comfortable and cozy, so we had a great night's rest. In the morning she made us a hearty breakfast and we chatted with her about the pilgrimage - such a nice friendly person and a credit to the Henro House organisation, which we appreciate so much.
Very kind and friendly host who can speak some English. I felt very welcome and comfortable here.

Simple traditional small grandma's home, with all the essentials. The host is kind, attentive and generous.
庭になっている文旦がとても美味しかったです。廊下を挟んだ隣の部屋でオーナーさんが普通に生活していますので、ホームステイのような宿です。
The host is amiable and speaks English. The room was comfy, and the meals were great.It took me a little time to find where the house was. If you’re coming from No.37 temple. Please make sure you turn left before the tunnel. It’s the third house on the left after making a left turn.
Lovely place to stay for walking henro, great location just next to the trail and a supermarket close by. It's not a classic guesthouse, more someone's home made available for tired travellers. Great atmosphere inside, you can feel like in home. There is a shrine for the previous tennant (I assumed), so you can pay respect and feel protected during a night. When I stayed there landlady, lovely girl very polite and helpful, left me and other henro alone there for the night. It's clean and well maintained, with a nice kitchen, bathroom and fast wifi. I believe I spend 3.500 or 4.500 for the night, I stayed there in the spring of 2019 for one night. Peculiar thing is, that there is a speaker in the house that broadcasted something (I believe routine tsunami training message), and me and other henro thought that tsunami is coming and we will die. Can recommend

It's pretty much a very Japanese home stay, so you are staying the owners house and share everything. That is interesting and makes it very different from the typical henro hostels. In gernall the place could have been a bit more organized, however, the owner is just really friendly, let me check in even without being around and provided me food as a gift. So in case you are not too picky and want to support locals, feel welcome at this place. If you are looking for a 🌟 hotel, it's probably not your place. The easiest way booking the accomodation was via Henro House website.
