日蓮宗 泉妙院の特徴
日蓮上人さまの経典法華経が唱えられる人気の寺院です。
尾形光琳と乾山の菩提所がある歴史的な場所です。
同志社大学近くの美しい庭園には桜とイルミネーションがあります。
日蓮宗泉妙院さまは日蓮上人さまの経典法華経を唱えられておられますが、上人さまも天台宗比叡山に置いて修行為されまして、下山為されて法華経の一文字ヾを蓮花の台にお乗せに為られて拝まれますよね。
閉ざされていた寺院なので合掌の証のログインできず。
光林菩提所 興善院旧跡尾形（小形）光琳は江戸時代元禄の頃の代表的画家で、京都の呉服商、「雁金屋」の生まれ、1716年（享保元年）6月2日59歳で寂す。尾形家の菩提寺興善院に葬られた。光琳は嫡子を1708年（宝永5年）小西家へ養嗣子にやった為に血脈は小西家に続き尾形一族より代々の住職を出していた興善院は無住となり、墓のみを残して取り払い、本行院の管理下に入る、同院1788年（天明8年）の大火に焼失し、加えて小西家も困窮し1805年（文化2年）5月3日光琳の墓石は総墓所へ移された。光琳死後百年、酒井抱一が光琳の墓石を見出せず、本行院跡に碑を建立す。1820年（文政3年）、本行院は泉妙院と合併して興善院跡に再建され本行院跡の碑を泉妙院が管理してきた。小西家は縁壇として尾形家を守り1908年（明治41年）6月、三越呉服本店（現株式会社 三越）は小西得太郎と共に施主となり1947年（昭和22年）の頃小西家が絶えた後も毎年6月2日光琳忌法要を営んでいる。1959年（昭和34年）文化財専門審議会、琳派研究家は総墓所へ移された光琳の墓石を元の処へ戻すことを提案され、1962年（昭和37年）正門が妙顕寺によって南側に移転されたのを機として埋葬地泉妙院に戻し現在に至る。小西家よりの寄贈品、光琳及び一族の作品、文献等を保存し位牌を祀る。昭和51年6月吉辰 泉妙院（現地説明版より）美術好きとしては尾形光を琳酒井抱一がいかにリスペクトしていたかわかってうれしいです。風神雷神図や燕子花図です。Korin Bodaisho (Kourin Memorial Temple), Former Site of Kozen-in TempleOgata (Ogata) Korin, a representative painter of the Genroku period of the Edo period, was born into the Kyoto kimono merchant Kariganeya. He passed away on June 2, 1716 (Kyoho 1), at the age of 59. He was buried at Kozen-in Temple, the Ogata family's family temple.Korin adopted his eldest son to the Konishi family in 1708 (Hōei 5). While Kozen-in Temple, which had been home to the Konishi family for generations, had been home to a succession of priests from the Ogata clan, it was left vacant. All but the tomb was removed and the temple came under the care of Hongyo-in Temple. The temple was destroyed in a major fire in 1788 (Tenmei 8). Furthermore, the Konishi family fell into financial difficulty, and on May 3, 1805 (Bunka 2), Korin's tombstone was moved to the main cemetery. One hundred years after Korin's death, Sakai Hoitsu was unable to find Korin's gravestone and erected a monument at the site of Hongyoin Temple. In 1820 (Bunsei 3), Hongyoin Temple merged with Senmyoin Temple and was rebuilt on the site of Kozenin Temple, with Senmyoin Temple managing the monument at the site of Hongyoin Temple.The Konishi family protected the Ogata family as an altar, and in June 1908 (Meiji 41), Mitsukoshi Kimono Store (now Mitsukoshi Co., Ltd.) became the client together with Konishi Tokutaro, and even after the Konishi family died out around 1947 (Showa 22), a memorial service for Korin has been held every year on June 2nd. In 1959, the Cultural Properties Specialist Council and Rinpa scholars proposed returning Korin's gravestone, which had been moved to the main cemetery, to its original location. In 1962, when Myokenji Temple's main gate was relocated to the south side, it was returned to its burial site, Senmyoin, where it remains to this day. Donations from the Konishi family, works by Korin and his family, documents, and memorial tablets are preserved here, along with memorial tablets.June 1976, Auspicious Day, Senmyoin(From the on-site information board)As an art lover, I'm delighted to see how much respect Sakai Hōitsu had for Ogata Hōitsu. These include the Wind God and Thunder God painting and the Irises painting.

周辺のオススメ
妙顕寺(みょうけんじ）」の9つある塔頭の一つが「泉妙院(せんみょういん）」になります。尾形家の菩提寺であった興善院の旧跡にあり、境内には尾形光琳と尾形乾山の兄弟等尾形家の墓所があります。山門脇に興善院跡および尾形家墓所を示す石碑と石板があります。基本的に非公開寺院になるが、訪問日は、門が開放されていたので入ることが出来ました。感謝。京都の歴史上最大の火災である天明の大火で尾形家の菩提寺であった興善院は焼失しました。興善院の住職は、代々、尾形一族から出していたが、無住の寺になっていた興善院を本行院の管下とになった。本行院は、泉妙院と合併して興善院跡に再建された。また、江戸時代後期の絵師、俳人である酒井抱一が尾形光琳の供養碑を建立しています。昭和37年（1962年）に尾形家の墓が泉妙院に移設されて現在にいたります。2025年10月訪問。
