六角堂 鐘楼の特徴
烏丸御池駅から徒歩3分のアクセス良好な鐘楼です。
時を知らせる鐘が響く tranquil なスポットです。
六角堂の境外地にあり、ゆっくり過ごせる快適な場所です。
山門の外側、六角通りを隔てた飛地境内に鐘楼が建っています。戦国時代、京都に戦乱の危機が迫ると、六角堂の鐘がつかれたという記録があります。現在の位置は江戸時代初期までさかのぼることができ、周辺の町の人々の信仰を集めた六角堂の特徴をよく表しています。鐘は第二次世界大戦時の金属供出で失われましたが、昭和29年（1954）に再鋳されました。平成31年（2019年3月）、本堂及び拝堂とともに京都市指定有形文化財に指定されました。（頂法寺HPより）駒札：鐘楼堂六角通を隔て 飛地境内にあり 慶長十年（1605）豊太閤の臣 堀尾吉晴の嫡男 忠氏が寄進。 当時は一向宗による一向一揆 加茂川洪水や大火の際にこの鐘をついて 急を市民に知らせたと云う。この鐘は 天明の大火で焼失 天保十年（1840）再鋳するも 第二次大戦に献納された。現在のものは昭和二十九年に再鋳復元 銘文は天保年間のものによる。古銘に曰く花外 蒲牢の響き 長安 半夜の天撃つ人は盛徳を輝かし 聞く者は名纏を解く朝に遠山の碧を渉り 暮れに市街の烟（けむり）にむせぶ観 音 妙 智 力 寿 幾千年か算えん慶長拾乙巳の年 春季 如意珠の日頂法寺化鐘六角堂 頂法寺（現地駒札より）Outside the temple gate, a bell tower is built in the enclave across Rokkaku-dori. There is a record that during the Sengoku period, the bell of Rokkakudo was rung when war threatened Kyoto. 烏丸六角を東に入った南側に鐘楼が有ります。これが六角堂の鐘楼です。六角堂の境内ではなくて外に有ります。現在の鐘は3代目とのことで歴史を感じます。
「聖徳太子」はどんな風に登場されたのか?身内が夢枕に来たら怖いけど。
今年は、こちらの桜を見る機会はなかったが、青葉が目に眩しかった。
この鐘楼は、市中に時を知らせる鐘として著名ですが 朝6時昼正午夕5時 一日３回近くの花屋さんが鳴らされていたらしいですが、体調を崩してからは全自動となり今があるみたいです。かつては一揆.火災.洪水等 宗教行事以外にも使われ町堂としての役割を十分果たしていたと思われます。なにせ400年以上の歴史の中で、今の鐘は昭和29年に再鋳された三代目ですがまだまだ活躍して頂きたいです。 大晦日の除夜の鐘は、並んだら皆んなが撞けるみたいです１０８と云われる数字に関係なく。

烏丸御池駅から徒歩３分。このお寺の中には、納経所の隣に宿泊ホテルがありました。そしてスターバックスコーヒーもお寺と通じており、ちょっとした休憩所として活用出来ますよ。お寺の名前の通り六角堂があり、へそ石や一言願い地蔵もありますよ。
大きな白鳥がいました。
ずっと居ても時間を忘れるくらいゆっくりできるところ。
