We had a truly wonderful stay at this ryokan. The setting is charming, peaceful, and wonderfully immersive, making it easy to disconnect and relax.The staff were exceptional — attentive, warm, and genuinely kind at all times. Their care and thoughtfulness made us feel very welcome throughout our stay.Everything about the atmosphere reflects the beauty of Japanese hospitality, and the experience felt both authentic and memorable.We would highly recommend this ryokan and would be very happy to return.
Beautiful ryokan and traditional rooms with super convenient location to central Kyoto! The owner was so sweet and kind and the room was beautiful! We had a private cedar tub and outdoor shower on the deck which felt amazing to soak in at the end of the night after a busy day exploring the city. We booked 2 rooms for 2 nights and found everything impeccably clean, wonderfully decorated in the traditional style, comfortable futons/comforters and probably had the best nights sleep of our time in Japan!
Staying at this ryokan was truly one of the highlights of my trip to Japan. Everything was exceptionally clean and thoughtfully prepared. I felt as if I had stepped into a different era, surrounded by the beauty of traditional Japanese culture it was such a special and unforgettable experience.The staff and managers were incredibly polite and helpful, always going above and beyond to make us feel welcome. If I didn’t have such a packed travel schedule, I would have gladly stayed longer this place alone is worth coming to Japan for.The futons were surprisingly comfortable, and the outdoor bath was such a thoughtful and relaxing touch. Yado Kiramachi is a hidden gem -- a traditional ryokan experience, but still affordable. A lovely property, ideally located just steps from Shijo-dori, and handy to buses and the subway, the grounds feature a tranquil Japanese garden where you can get away from it all after a day of exploring this fantastic city. The rooms, although they have traditional futons, tatami mats and sliding panels, also have high-end bathroom facilities with a great shower. This inn does not feature an onsen or serve meals, as one might find at more expensive properties, but the focus on providing excellent hospitality and attentive customer service ranks with the best. We were offered a complimentary breakfast on our second day, which was as delicious as it was unexpected. We highly recommend!
Tucked by a quiet street in a busy Kyoto, this is perfect for couples who want to shop yet have the Ryokan experience. When we first arrive, our belongings were brought to our room while we check in at the counter. I got to use the indoor private onsen in our room, which is nice as I don’t feel comfortable using public baths. The breakfast was also excellent, very traditional in a nice bento box. Before we left, we were also greeted with a gift (postcards) which was a nice touch. The property is also gated using keycard so it gives me a sense of security.100% should try.
新しくて建物が凝っているだけ。男のスタッフが言葉の端々で傲慢さが出ていた。客層がレベルが高い？からって自分まで大きくなったと勘違いしている？あと、階段が急すぎて非常に危ない。HPもUIが全然ダメ。

This hotel was wonderful! The accommodation itself was a very cozy traditional Japanese style and very well maintained. We had the two story suite with a private external bath and it was a great value. The staff and Tada-san were kind and hospitable and helped with forwarding our luggage among other requests. It was a great quiet anniversary getaway in a bustling city.
