大国社の特徴
花で飾られたネズミ様が出迎える神社です。
駒鼠で有名な大豊神社の境内に位置します。
独特の雰囲気を持つ末社として親しまれています。
哲学の道から山麓へ約200mほど東へ行くとこちらはある緩やかな坂道なので行きやすいこちらの特徴は狛犬が居ないこと狛犬の代わりに、狛鼠や狛猿、狛鳶、狛蛇、狛狐などが出迎えてくれる春の時期には枝垂れ桜も開花訪れる観光客も少ないのでおすすめのポイント。

One has fox guardians straight out of Studio Ghibli, another has what looks suspiciously like a coiled turd but is actually a sacred snake statue. Bow to it anyway. It might bless your investments.Honestly, it’s not the biggest shrine in Kyoto, but it’s intimate, forested, and feels like the Shinto gods themselves are whispering: “Stop checking your Apple Watch steps and just…be.”If you’re on Philosopher’s Path and want a hidden gem that’s free, beautiful, and mildly surreal, this delivers. Plus, you can say you saw a stone poop snake in a sacred setting. That’s a story no one at home will top.

駒鼠で有名♪
大豊神社の境内末社。御祭神は大国主命。古事記で大国主命が鼠に助けられた逸話から、社殿前には狛犬ならぬ、狛ねずみが建てられており、なかなか可愛らしいです。
