Aki san is very helpful and kind to pick us up from Takahara village after our Kumano hike. The place is warm, comfortable and homely, Japanese hospitality!! Bento Food prepared is definitely oiishi..
A little apart from the Kumano Kodo trail, this guesthouse is a simple, clean and confortable place. The hostess is really nice and generous, the food good and abundant.
This guesthouse was such a special experience on our first day of the kumano kodo pilgrimage. The host picked us up from the rest stop. We had the entire guesthouse to ourselves and the amenities were great. Beautiful bento box for dinner and highly recommend the wood fire bath after a day of hiking
A nice and authentic farm house stay though a bit far from from Takahara rest area. However, the host is able to pick you up and drop you off to and from Takahara rest area. For city rats like my group, can be scary at first with no other houses in the vicinity and the bathroom is in another building.
It's an entire japanese house for yourself! And there's a small private onsen, what a treat after the hike! Yes it's a bit far from the trail (15 min drive) but they offer the transfert! The host, Aki, is very welcoming! Kawaï Noko Noko 🫶
Guesthouse NokoNoko was a fantastic stay. A whole house to ourselves, fully equipped kitchen, wonderful amenities. But best of all, the host. We felt like guests, were able to shop and shuttled to our trail.

I have no words to describe how welcoming and beautiful this experience was. It was the perfect start to my Kumano kodo journey. The meals were amazing and I could tell how much love was put into them, so thank you. 💗 The guesthouse is also nestled in the cutest valley and if you’re lucky, a cat might stop by to say hello. I hope to stay here again and thank you so much for the amazing hospitality. ☺️
