In this facility built next to Ooe Station in Fukuchiyama is open to public. The facility has a large event hall with capacity to house 260 people. This is an example of Kagura being held in this place. Since the town of Ooe-cho is known for the legend of Oni ( Demon ) the station and the surrounding area ( Oni Gawara rooftiles of oni Park ) is full of symbolic characters of Oni. This time the facility was hosting a performance presented by a Kagura band from Hiroshima called Asahi Kagura Band the name of the event was Oni-no Symposium. Before the the performance there was a explanation on the origin of Oni and evolution given by Kazuhiko Komatsu who is the head of International Cultural Research Center. The themes of Kagura were Mt. Ooe and Yamatano Orochi . Those stories are popular mythology of Japan depicting how those mythical figures currently worshiped as deities defeat demonic monsters. These stories are often selected as themes of Kagura and played by many other Kagura bands nationwide.( Trans-word+ : TGM Kyoto Guide )
