I visited the war horse monument around noon on a hot day at the end of summer. Even if the gyoza festival next door is noisy, when I see the monument and rest in the shade I find time to consider the monument.Although it is by the castle, you may be confused to think this is a memorial to horses who died during the wars of the Sengoku Jidai, or the horse who served the Mouri, Fukushima, and Asano clans at Hiroshima castle.Actually, it is unrelated to the castle and is of Showa era. Although it is difficult to see on the monument, if you look closely you will tell it was built in Showa 8. A memorial to the horses of the 5th Artillery Regiment. For this reason, it could be especially interesting for cavalry fans and for artillery lovers. While the hardworking horses in the military deserve many thanks, please consider it well. The shade helps to keep your mind at ease. It is not very busy, so there is good time to keep it in mind. Please take it in slowly.Thank you for your consideration.
