TLDR: Use google translate and your experience will be better.This store is just a couple of minutes' walk off the main street and is absolutely worth a visit. We stopped by late at night looking for a specific sake, which the owner didn’t carry. However, what stood out was how he went above and beyond to help us. He genuinely tried to understand what we were looking for, researched where the sake was made, and even helped us figure out where we could find it on our way home.His kindness and dedication were remarkable, especially considering it was so late. It’s rare to find someone who truly cares about their customers, even if it doesn’t result in a sale.We were honestly surprised by some of the negative reviews because our experience was excellent. A little patience and using tools like Google Translate can make communication much easier and reveal just how much effort he puts into his service. If you’re in the area, I highly recommend giving this place a visit—it’s a hidden gem with exceptional service!
嵐山はゴミ箱が少ないのですがこの店は親切にゴミ箱も設置されていて便利でした。控えめに言って最高です。今度はお酒を買いに行きます。

Not sure why there were so many negative reviews for this place. Speak a small amount of Japanese and be polite and they treat you wonderfully. Sweet older woman behind the counter when I walked in. Showed her an image of what I needed and she helped me find it without issue!
