店主の親切さが印象に残る、素敵な古本屋です。
スーパーハイフリップのように驚きの体験ができる場所です。
Yoshiya-san's shop on the 2nd floor has an amazing selection of reproduction Ukiyo-e woodblock prints you are free to browse and buy for very good prices. He was very friendly to talk to and discuss different prints from many famous Hiroshige and Hokusai sets. Has various levels of quality of prints for any persons budget if you are just starting collecting or trying to find the perfect Showa-era print. Unfortunately he didn’t have any Shin-hanga but directed us to three places in Tokyo for the next leg of our trip to go check out specific artists I was looking for. Offered to buy and send prints to my home country of specific Ukiyo-e designs if I ever email him.When my wife and I were looking around he offered us tea and a biscuit which was extremely nice! Bought two prints from him and plan to go again if I ever visit Kyoto again. Also gave an amazing dinner date spot near Nijo-castle.
たまたま見つけたお店で同郷の方と出会えるとは！歴史資料館が休館日で時間が余ったので、googleマップ見て気になって行ってみました。とても親切にしてくださり、楽しいお話も聞けて本当に良い時間になりました。目的のものは見つけられなかったけれど、興味深い本を購入させていただきました。京都に行く時は絶対に絶対に絶対にまた伺います。楽しい時間をありがとうございました！
An amazing selection of artwork and a lovely experience - after purchasing some items we had a nice chat and I received some of his favourite snacks and some dinner recommendations!
京都旅行最大的驚喜！我們一直有逛古書店、古地圖店的習慣，這次到了京都，就決定到赤尾照文堂看看，果然店裡面陳設的古畫、舊明信片等等非常吸引人！當我們結帳之後，老闆問我們是哪裡人，我們回答來自台灣，老闆突然很開心的樣子，然後拿出自己在霞海城隍廟求的簽給我們看，還說他很喜歡中華職棒，是Lamigo（似乎不喜歡現在的樂天集團哈哈）的球迷，甚至2024年還到台北大巨蛋看明星賽！我自己看了三十年中華職棒，卻一次都沒有到現場看過明星賽。我們相談甚歡，老闆還簽了一張歡迎卡給我，離開之後走了一陣子，老闆跑步追了上來，特別拿了他最喜歡的零食給我們，這一切都太有趣了！期待日後在台灣與老闆一起看球！
江戸の古地図を探していましたが、復刻版のお手頃なのが見つかりました！店員さんも話しやすくて助かりました！ありがとうございました。

My friends bought some prints here, very cool! All the prints are beautiful and they also have kimono design books. Would definitely recommend checking out!

Excellent antique bookstore with super friendly staff. They have an excellent collection and it is a must-see spot in Kyoto for map lovers. Found my dream map from the Meiji era. Arigato gozaimasu Yoshiya!
