I stayed here for about four months, and all I can say is how deeply grateful I am to have experienced such a wonderful chapter of my life in this place, with Nao-chan’s family and the community of Kibi Chūō.This was so much more than just another travel experience. It was about creating meaningful connections, learning about local traditions, improving my Japanese, visiting places known mostly by locals, joining seasonal festivals, and discovering traditional Japanese food.I also had time to play in the bamboo forest, pretend to be a ninja, eat so much delicious food, and enjoy the countryside in almost every season. Whether it is winter, spring, summer, or autumn, there is always something special to experience, even on rainy days!! or under the brightest sun.I'm incredibly grateful for all the memories, lessons, kindness, and beautiful moments I experienced here. I will surely return one day to once again enjoy the Japanese countryside lifestyle and reconnect with the wonderful local people who made me feel so welcome.PD: Also if you are a anime lover, book lover, animation/illustration lover like me, this is a magnificent place to stay, draw and going to book-off stores and get your best books!!
5月はたけのこ堀ができます！目の前が竹林なので手軽に楽しむことができました。虫除けは必須です！虫が大好きな子どもたちは、目をキラキラさせて、虫探しを楽しんでいました。
見晴らしのいい景色や、ゆっくりした時間が流れる場所。昔のおばあちゃんの家を思い出し、懐かしさも感じました。目の前に竹林もあるので、タケノコ好きの方はぜひ。
人生が変わった最高の場所！日本にいるのにホームステイしているような気分になれます！自分の世界が広がりました！
中学英語も怪しいレベルで2泊3日で滞在してきました！私がいった時はなんと6人の外国人が滞在中で最初は驚きました！笑スクールではないので、レッスンなどはありません。ひたすら彼らと頑張ってコミニュケーションを取りながら一緒に料理をしてご飯を食べたり、ウクレレを教えてもらったり(笑)、竹林を伐採したり、習字をしたり、映画を見たりしました。もちろん、各自好きな事ができるので、眠い時はのんびりもできます。私のたどたどしい英語を一生懸命聞いてくれて、簡単な単語を選んでゆっくり話してくれたり、朝起きると、「おはよう！よく眠れた？」「お茶飲む？」と声をかけてくれて本当に親切な人ばっかりでした！ どうやら、外国人を受け入れる時、オーナーさんが事前にしっかりとやり取りをしてから、選んで受け入れてるそうです！だから変な人が居なかったのかと納得しました！笑日本に居ながら、留学体験ができて本当に貴重な場所だなと思いました！もっともっと英語力を伸ばして、また行きたいです！！本当にありがとうございました！🤗

A wonderful place to experience authentic Japanese culture with a lovely, welcoming Japanese family. We spent time learning how to make traditional Japanese dishes (in our case modified to be vegan), exploring the local area and visiting local cultural events (as well as some nearby historic villages), and learning about Japanese customs and traditions with Nao-chan, Kida-san and their children.The house is a beautiful traditional rural Japanese house, with land to explore and a bamboo forest. It was fascinating to learn about the architecture of Japanese houses and gain an understanding of how the Shoji sliding panels work as part of a system. One of my favourite parts was sleeping in traditional capsule beds - much more private than bunk beds, with a little curtain, reading light and storage shelves.We didn't find anywhere else in Japan that was as unique or special as Nano-village. Absolutely worth visiting.
