電波塔と観音像が多数あり独特の雰囲気です。
車で頂上まで楽にアクセスできるのが魅力です。
方曽根山 • Mt. Katasone718.6 m • 2,357.7 ftMt. Katasone is the Little Fuji of Funehiki Town. It’s a standalone peak that is not that difficult of a climb. Actually, there isn’t any climbing involved at all. Or hiking, depending on how you decide to get to the top.The trailhead is easy to find. Follow the road past the Post Office and there will be markings for Katasone Mountain. If you want to take a trail halfway up, you can find the trailhead easily by going through the park at the base of the mountain. If you want to follow the road to the top, you can do that as well. The road is well maintained; cars can easily get to the top.The hiking trail itself only goes halfway up, unfortunately. In the summertime, spiderwebs cross the path at every turn. But, this is nature! It can’t be helped. It’s a decent enough path, but a lot of the signs are worn down and broken. The path is supposed to continue to the top, but it’s been “under construction” for years. My guess is there’s not enough funding in the tourist department. It’s a shame. A pathway to the top could be really cool!The view itself, once you get to the top, is great. It is somewhat marred by an annoying telecom/radio station (I’m not sure what it is), and its massive antennas ruin the atmosphere a bit. But again, the view from the observation platform itself is fantastic and you can see Mt. Bandai as well as many other mountains in the area.They should really consider fixing the signs at the summit though. It can’t be that expensive. Also, they got rid of the bathrooms at the top! I’m not sure why. Maybe they’re adding new ones? For now, there are Port-a-potties, which get the job done, I guess.I hike this mountain nearly every weekend. It’s close by, the path is simple, and the view is nice. Katasone gets a 3.5/5 stars for me. It’s okay, but I know the experience can be better! I hope the city government can fix some of the signs up top/make new ones, expand the path so it can continue to the top, and add some better amenities at the summit.Good luck, and happy climbing!Commodore ポチ🐶
車で山頂付近まで行けるので気分転換に気軽に行けます。船引町郡山市両方が山頂から見えます。周辺に箱罠が設置してあるため運転の際は動物注意です。

標高783m頂上に電波塔 あるけど観音像が多数あると 但し書きがあるので 興味ある人はいいと思うけど もうひとつ注意書きがあったのでお気をつけては。
クルマで頂上付近まで行けます。駐車場で降りてすごい階段を登れば頂上まで行けます。山頂からの眺望は素晴らしく片曽根山神社、電波塔、休憩出来る椅子や東屋があります。春夏秋冬景色さまざまで冬季は山の麓に雪が無くても北側からの道路は雪道ですので、スタッドレスタイヤは必須となります。最近までトイレが駐車場にありましたが、現在は解体されており、もしかして新設されるかもしれません。しかし、確認されるまで近くでトイレに行ってから行くことお勧めします。山頂にはTV中継所やNHKの中継所があり山登りだけでは無いラジオ、テレビのこの地域の中枢の歴史を見ることができます。地域のライオンズクラブも整備に参加されているようでライオンズクラブの活動域の広さに感謝しています。眺望に関しては移ケ岳も間近で観る事が出来ます。車で行く際は道路は広いものの、登り付近には地域の福祉センターもあるので高齢者が歩いているので注意してください。片曽根山は地域では親しまれている山ですが、近隣に住む方は知らない方も多いので一度は訪問する事お勧めします。
車で頂上付近まで行けるので楽チンです。
