伊豆川奈の海岸にそびえ立つ立派な日蓮上人像です。陸からは背中で語り、海からは顔を覗かせてくれます。歴史としては鎌倉時代に流罪となりまな板岩に置き去りにされたという日蓮を川奈の漁師である弥三郎が救出し30日間かくまったという縁らしいです。現在では漁師たちの無事と大漁を祈願する大切な場所となっています。陸からもいいですがぜひ海から見ることをおすすめします！！It is a splendid statue of Nichiren Shonin standing on the coast of Izu Kawana. From the land, it speaks on its back, and from the sea, it lets you see its face. Historically, Nichiren, who was exiled in the Kamakura period and was left behind on Manaitaiwa, was rescued by Yasaburo, a fisherman from Kawana, who hid him for 30 days. Today, it has become an important place to pray for the safety of fishermen and good catches. It's nice to see it from land, but I definitely recommend seeing it from the sea! !
