Annon-ji was originally a Shingon Buddhist temple, but converted to the Nichiren denomination in 1601. It holds an 11-faced Kannon statue, one of only 11 such in the entire country, and which was registered as a Prefecturally Designated Important Cultural Property in 1982.While not the most famous of temples in the area, it is very much worth a visit. It has three lesser halls in addition to the main hall, plus a shrine to Inari, all very well maintained, and there is plenty of car parking space if you are driving.

We were visiting the area and came to Annonji just to feel it's serenity. We were unexpectedly greeted by the nicest young lady, who proceeded to show us around and give us brief explanations of what we were seeing. What a wonderful experience that we would've never imagined having.
