A charming local shopping street in Tama New Town with over 50 years of history. While Tama New Town has become a symbol of Japan's declining population, this shopping street offers a glimpse of hope for the future. It features a mix of long-established shops, such as a beauty salon, fruit shop, and third-generation Chinese restaurant, as well as newer additions, such as a vintage clothing store and an architecture/café shop.This is probably not a destination for most, but if you happen to be nearby on a weekend (check the open days and time before visiting) you should definitely stop by to say hi to the local business owners and enjoy a cup of coffee.
