Descending the concrete stairs of an unassuming building, one will find probably the most special wine bar in Tokyo, if not Japan. In my case, I was found by the kind owner while peeking outside. With a location on a cul-de-sac in a quiet corner of Kita-Aoyama, most people do not stumble upon this bar, but come here curious about Japanese wine, or to be more precise, wine produced in Japan.In my wine study and time spent in Japan so far, I had not found many Japanese wines which I liked, so I was curious about Degustation. I tried four white and four red (volume can be adjusted from the standard serve) recommended by the owner on my first visit, and several more on my second visit. I was impressed by each of them, and they are not the usual Koshu wine from Yamanashi which tends to be quite light. It was eye-opening to know that Japan can also produce high quality wines!The owner was friendly and knowledgeable. It was wonderful to learn so much about the current winemaking landscape, industry and different winegrowing regions in Japan. I'm looking forward to my next visit and continuing my education and exploration!p.s. some of them are so good that I already finished the glass and forgot to take a picture, that explains the empty glass 😂
We are at beginner level of wines, and the store owner is very friendly and helpful at introducing wines about the tastes and the production. He told us many stories and knowledge.All the wine are made in Japan with great taste.(And the food next store tasted good as well.)The store made its own Wine tasting survey with LINE app. The survey is provided both in Japanese and English.(The service is super foreigner-friendly, the owner speaks fluent English.)

白4/赤4種類, 計8種類の日本産ワインを飲み比べました。味の種類が豊富で、飲み比べることで、自分の好みがわかります。気に入ったワインを更に一杯いただき、購入させていただきました。こちらで飲み比べしなければ、日本のワインは酸っぱいかな？という理解のままでした。お店の雰囲気やマスターの人柄、そしてインテリアやワイングラス、お皿などセンスが良くて長居してしまうお店です。また寄らせていただきます。
食事会の二次会で伺いました。お酒が全く飲めないのでワインビネガーの炭酸割りをいただきました。とても美味かったです。

It was a "wow" experience to taste "Japanese wine". great place to visit to enjoy many, many kinds of Japanese wine.The uniqueness is you can first try a blind wine tasting of 8 glasses of white. then you use a app to input what you like or not. A kind of brief analysis of your input is made and the recommended brand will be seen and the master of the bar will bring you the wine for full enjoyment! The wine was amazing but the tasting analysis was fun too.It's a must visit bar, if you are in Tokyo.

ワインはヨーロッパやアメリカで生産されたものが最高と思ってました。日本ワインは安くて手軽に飲めるという印象でしたが、このお店で日本ワインの魅力、他国のワインに劣っていないどころかこんなに美味しいワインがあるなんてと感動すらさせてくれます。ワイン好きも、ワインが苦手な人にも体験してほしいです。
