別府でも有名な温泉地区ですが、静かな場所にあります。車で行くと、初見では迷うかも。
うーん🧐、楽しかったー昭和のアパートに、友達と住んでる感じ〜スーパーの…海鮮丼ぶり激安激ウマ‼️瓢箪温泉後→お買い物後…清潔なハッピーネコで、爆睡〜これ以上の、非日常の幸せは…なかなかありませぬ…ぜよ❣️
ご主人は爽やかだけどあまり多くは語らないといった感じで好印象。建物は古いが、手入れは行き届いている。TV、ドライヤー、洗濯機、IHコンロ、レンジ、空気清浄器、無料Wifiもあり。客室入り口は、それぞれ独立。バスユニットは無いが、温泉や食事処、地獄釜は近隣にたくさんあるので不自由はない。当時、他の客室の皆さんも静かでした。 建物内がそこそこ響くので、騒ぎたい人にはお勧めしない。また利用したい宿。旅慣れしている日本人にも是非オススメ。
We stayed in Beppu for two nights on our tour in Japan. ||Happy Neko was great place to stay. We had two Japanese studios for us and our kids which were located in an adjacent building. Parking is no issue and available right in front of the building. ||Bibo and family were a very nice host with very fast email communication and he explained us all the things in the area. ||The studios are very spacious and real Japanese style with floor mats and futons to sleep on. The furniture and utilities are very basic but all you need (plates, cups, silverware, sink, dish soap, fridge) There is a toilet, but no shower / bath in the room - equipped as described in the booking page. You can go in one of the various Onsen to clean up. ||We were in the Hyotan onsen which is only a few min walking distance. It is a very nice onsen that offers private and public onsens. For about 20USD you can rent a very nice private onsen (they have 14 private onsens, indoor and outdoor versions) for 1h. They are up to 3 people, but it was no issue to enter with a family of 4. ||There is a supermarket in walking distance and also plenty of restaurants in the area along the main street. ||The upper part of the Hells of Beppu are in walking distance (less than 1km from Happy Neko) through some nice walking/small streets. For the lower part you will need some kind of transportation or a good condition. They are about 3km from Happy Neko. ||A good tip from Bibo was also to make an evening walk (once the sun was down) through the city area (in the area around Happy Neko) as you can see all the steam outlets through the city and it is a very interesting experience.
We had the family suite which was really huge for our family of 4. Enough area to sleep and another area with table to eat as well. It's a perfect quaint ryokan with paper doors. ||||Even though at night it gets very cold, the owner provided heated mats and extra heater without us asking for it. He helped explained all the different places and types of Onsen to enjoy a morning or night bath.||||A supermarket is just 2mins walk away. We had relatives staying in the smaller rooms which had kitchen facilities too. ||||We stayed for total 3 nights. They allowed us to put our bags while return for our stay as well. ||||Would recommend this place to anyone staying in Beppu or to visit Mt Aso or Yifuin.
鉄輪温泉のほぼ中心街です。地獄や公設温泉など、別府鉄輪を楽しむのにバッチリなロケーションです。部屋にはガスコンロ（一口）、電気ポット、食器、やかん、なべ等揃い、簡単料理ならOKです、スーパーも近所にあり、自炊派の人には◎です。地元の人向けの食堂も近所にたくさんあります。宿には駐車場あり。バスだと別府駅まで１５分くらい。||部屋は清潔、静かで、布団もふんわりしていて、トイレも洋式で居心地良かったです。ただ、部屋は風呂シャワーなしなので、夏など寝る前にサッパリしたいときなどは・・・かもしれません。||値段も良心的で、また泊まりたいです。
英語のクチコミばかり、写真は普通の民家、隣の部屋の音がうるさいのでは？外人うけするだけのふるーい日本民家なのでは・・と警戒（笑）しながらの利用。||個室と言う事で子連れで利用しました。||||写真の民家はオーナーの生活エリアで、宿泊は隣の古めのアパートです。||古いのですがきれいに塗りなおしてあり、お掃除も行き届いていて、設備は新しめ。||ワンルームを一室利用できる、コンドミニアムな感じ。||泊った部屋には簡易キッチンにお皿とお茶碗スプーンなど、湯沸しポット、紅茶のティーバッグ、洗濯機と外に洗濯物干し場、BSも見れる壁掛けテレビ（小さめ）、エアコンとトイレ、電子レンジに冷蔵庫付き。||小さなテーブルもあるし、周りの物音もほとんど聞こえません。||||マイナス点||・シャワー無しです。歩いてすぐ温泉があるので冬はOKですが夏は厳しいですね。||・上階の排水音が結構響きます。||・500号線からの入り口が狭く看板が目立たないので車で行かれる方は注意が必要||（狭い上一方通行で無いので車で突っ込むのに勇気がいります）||・「ハッピーネコ」の表札がパソコンでプリントアウトしラミネートされたもので目立ちません・・||||他の利用者も静かでしたし、子連れでも気兼ねなく過ごせます。値段を考えれば大満足です。||５つ丸の理由が分かりました、納得です！6歳以下の子供が無料と言うのも良心的！||近くの駅まで送迎もしてくれるそうですし、お部屋でWi-Fiも使えるようです。||（私の使い方が悪かったのか接続できなかったけど・・オーナーさんに伝えるの忘れちゃった・・）||||あとは・・便座が冷たいのでカバーが欲しいです。張るタイプのシートだと掃除もしやすくお勧めです。||食器はシンク下に伏せて直接おいてあるので、プラスチックのかご等に入れた方が清潔感があります。||||確かに古いアパートですがこの設備と清潔感とこの値段はファミリーには最高です！またお世話になります、よろしくお願いします。

We've felt at home! The owner is so kind and helpful!The apartment has two big spaces. It has a perfect location in a quiet area. So clean and it has all you need, towels, well equipped kitchen, tea and coffee... There's no bath but you can find many public hot springs around (free and and 100 yen).500% recommend! We'll definitely be back!
