We had an amazing time with Jun. He’s truly passionate about Yakushima and the forest.The night before our Tour, Jun alerted us to the weather conditions, the heavy rain that was forcasted and recommend we change to the Yakusugi Land TourWe took his suggestion to go on the safer Yakusugi-Land tour and had an amazing time walking/ hiking in the rain with Umbrella's. Was truely an unforgettable experience.He also took many wonderful photos of us and the forest throughout the tour, which he kindly shared afterward.Thanks Jun, we learned so much and had an experience we will never forget. Highly recommended
We had an amazing time with Jun, who guided us on a tour through the beautiful Shiratani Unsui Gorge. He’s truly passionate about Yakushima and the forest. Jun adjusts to your own pace and takes the time to share fascinating stories and anecdotes along the way. He also took many wonderful photos of us and the forest throughout the tour, which he kindly shared afterward.At lunchtime, he even brought everything needed to warm up our bento, and prepared for us an incredible coffee roasted by one of his friends. Thanks to him, we learned so much and had an unforgettable experience. Highly recommended!
We had an incredible hike with Jun from Yakushima Geographic and would strongly recommend booking a tour! Jun was very easy to coordinate with and brought us to beautiful places all around the island after we hiked Shiratani Unsui Gorge. We saw lots of local wildlife and having somebody so knowledgeable about Yakushima's history was wonderful. We learned so much, thank you!
My husband and I had the best time with Junichi from Yakushima Geographic Tours! We joined him for two tours over two days, and every moment was wonderful.On the first day, we enjoyed a peaceful kayaking trip down the Anbo River, where Junichi shared fascinating insights about the local wildlife and nature. We stopped along the riverside for a beautiful outdoor lunch, and even had the chance to cool off with a refreshing swim.The next day, we hiked the Shiratani trail and explored the magical forest. Junichi’s knowledge of the area is incredible, he told us so many stories and answered all our questions with such passion. He even brought cookware so we could enjoy a hot, freshly prepared lunch in the middle of the forest, which made the experience extra special.Another highlight was that Junichi took photos and even a video of our experiences, which he shared with us afterward, such a thoughtful way to help us remember the trip. And to top it all off, he surprised me with ice cream at the end of the tour to celebrate my birthday!It was an unforgettable experience, and we can’t recommend his tours highly enough! If you’re visiting Yakushima, this is an absolute must! We personally can’t wait to return and have Junichi as our guide again.
Junichi-san is a phenomenal guide and I highly recommend his tours if you visit Yakushima - I wouldn't hesitate to contact him again for future treks!The night before my tour in May, Junichi-san promptly and understandably alerted me that it was better not to go ahead with my original tour for Shiratani-Unsuikyo due to safety concerns with weather and risk from heavy rain (Yakushima's weather is especially unpredictable).Junichi-san was flexible and professional, and I took his suggestion to go on the then safer Yakusugi-Land tour instead.During the tour it was still raining quite a bit, but Junichi-san carefully assessed the conditions at every stage and clearly communicated how far we could go.Luckily, it was feasible the whole time and thanks to his expert judgement we could complete the hike safely at my own pace. I'm very grateful for both his willingness to accomodate during challenging weather, while being very professional and ensuring safety as the top concern.Junichi-san speaks excellent English and was very accommodating in both English and Japanese. Junichi-san is very friendly and we had many great conversations, and alongside his expert knowledge of nature and Japanese culture, this made the tour highly enjoyable from the car rides to the trek through the amazing forest.Despite having to do a different tour than originally planned, I was very happy with the outcome and the atmosphere of the forest was unlike any other I've seen - especially during the rain which made it seem both unreal and authentic. The tour was an incredible and unforgettable experience, and a definite highlight of my travel not only in Yakushima but Japan in general.I highly recommend Junichi-san for his expertise, great personality, and clear passion for Yakushima's nature!ありがとうございました！
An experience for nature and Miyazaki lovers alike. Jun takes that experience and makes it once in a lifetime experience. There is no one else to consider when planning your next hike in Yakushima. Jun puts your experience and safety first with his private hikes.Jun makes this hike once in a lifetime because of his knowledge for the area and Miyazaki (backed by 25 years doing the same hike), his respect for nature, his attentiveness in providing a campsite like kitchen to reheat lunch and local tea in a trail spot he specially created as a member of the nature preserve team, his attentiveness with photos of you during your tour, and his passion for sharing his knowledge with others.My wife and I cannot wait to hike with Jun again - maybe with our child in tow next time!

Jun (Junichi Aida) is a fantastic guide! His knowledge of hiking in Yakusugi Land is deep and mindful. We learned so much from him while we hiked to see and meet Yamatosugi. Along the way, we absorbed the clean pristine mountain island air, felt the forest vibe, and enjoyed each moment. As outdoor enthusiasts, we love hiking, and the hike with Jun made it extra special.
チャレンジし甲斐のある道を豊富な知識と経験でサポート、ガイドして下さり、とても有意義かつ楽しい経験でした。英語も素晴らしくて日本語だけでは少し不自由な主人も存分に楽しめました。単に登山だけではない体験です、素敵な瞬間の写真も撮って頂けます。是非会田さんと一緒に歩く事を皆さんにお勧めします。白谷雲水峡のコースももちろん素敵でしたが、特に会田さん特有の大和杉のコースには魅了されました。また機会があれば是非お願い致したいと夫婦共々思っています。

We had an amazing kayaking tour with Jun from Yakushima Geographic Tour. It was the perfect activity right after our 3-hour ferry ride—fun, refreshing, and very well paced. My two boys absolutely loved it, especially with the beautiful weather and calm waters.Jun speaks excellent English and is incredibly thoughtful. He constantly checked on us to make sure we were comfortable and safe, and his friendly guidance made the entire experience enjoyable and relaxing.A wonderful surprise was the memorable video he filmed and shared with us—such a special way to remember our time in Yakushima.Overall, this was one of the highlights of our trip.Highly recommended tour and an outstanding guide. If you’re visiting Yakushima, make sure to book a tour with Jun!
