To achieve a "child-rearing space surrounded by trees" as requested by the nursery while keeping construction costs low, the structural framework was left exposed to eliminate the need for additional finishing materials. Additionally, slanted truss beams were used as roof sheathing to omit traditional roof framing.A 9-meter-wide column-free space was realized using a wooden truss beam system with a sawtooth folded-plate structure. Although the ceiling height was intentionally designed to be quite low to reduce both material lengths for columns and air conditioning volume, the undulating roof shape and the trapezoidal windows on the gable ends ensure that even adults do not feel the ceiling is too low.Since the sidewalk in front of the building serves as a walking path in the area, large glass panels were installed at a low height on the eastern facade, allowing passersby to see the children inside. This design creates a visual connection between the local community and the nursery children.
