We were invited in for a matcha tea ceremony with the owner Tomoya, the previous owner and their friends.It was a very special experience, in a picturesque spot along the Nakasendo trail - very well-situated for anyone wanting to complete the Nagiso - Magome portion of the trail.It was very kind of them to welcome us in, and the matcha was delicious and well needed after a day of walking! What an oasis in a very special place. The accommodation looked beautiful and exquisite. Would definitely recommend staying here or stopping for some sustenance along the Nakasendo trail!Laura & Charlie, UK

雨＝古民家×現代的心地よさ×木曽の自然×中山道を歩く旅人×愛。
駅から宿までは、南木曽らしい自然に囲まれた木陰の道を歩いて行けて、とても気持ちのいい道のりでした。中山道沿いにあるおしゃれなカフェ兼宿で、カフェでいただいたチョコレートマフィンとコーヒーがとても美味しく、ほっとひと息つけました。宿は広くて居心地がよく、家族や友人との滞在にもぴったりです。また行きたいと思います。Depuis la gare, le chemin pour rejoindre l’hébergement passe par des sentiers ombragés entourés de la belle nature de Nagiso — une promenade très agréable. Situé le long de la route Nakasendō, ce café-hébergement est à la fois charmant et accueillant. J’y ai dégusté un excellent muffin au chocolat avec un bon café, un vrai moment de détente. L’hébergement est spacieux et confortable, idéal pour les séjours en famille ou entre amis. J’aimerais beaucoup y retourner.
カフェのマフィン、手作りの優しい味でとってもおいしいです。すぐにでもまた食べたい！お宿は天井が高くて開放感があり、5人で泊まっても広々のびのびできました！静かで穏やかな時間が流れる場所です。
カフェは、凛とした雰囲気がありつつも、スタッフのみなさんは、あたたかで穏やか。私は宿に滞在していたので、マフィンとアイスコーヒーをお部屋で頂きました。マフィンの甘みと濃厚さが好みでした。オリジナルブレンドのコーヒーは、酸味と苦味のバランスがこちらもちょうど良かったです。近くの妻籠宿もとっても素敵なエリアだったので、また必ず来ます。"ame"(this cafe) has a refined atmosphere, while its staff are warm and gentle. Since I was staying in the attached private hotel, I enjoyed a muffin and iced coffee in my room. The muffin had a rich flavor with just the right sweetness--exactly my taste. The original coffee had a perfect balance of acidity and bitterness. Tsumago-juku, the historic post town near the cafe, was beautiful, and I'll definitely come back again.

Just wrapped up the most wonderful stay at ame, and our only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer! You can really tell how much care Tommy and his family put into the renovation of this beautiful historic home; it is found throughout all the modern and thoughtful touches in every corner of the house. We took full advantage of the hospitality offered at ame, including coffee and pastries at the cafe, the dinner and breakfast meal kits they had stocked for us upon arrival, laundry, and Tommy even kindly arranged to have a taxi take us to the trailhead at Magome to start our hike, all of which worked out perfectly. I can’t recommend ame enough if you are considering doing any portion of the Nakasendo trail. Thank you Tommy!
