We absolutely LOVED our stay at The Nook. We stumbled on this new lodge at short notice and have had the most wonderful time here. We cannot recommend Lachie and his staff highly enough. Everyone has been SO kind, helpful and friendly. The beds are incredibly comfortable, our rooms were generously sized and warm and the shared bathroom facilities are new and clean. We ate in at the lodge on multiple nights and can highly recommend the Pizza’s. The shuttle to and from the bus terminal runs regularly and on time and makes getting to and from the ski resorts a breeze, it’s also perfect for getting into town for dinner. You can organise your ski rental at the lodge through Rhythm who will pick you up in a shuttle and take you to and from their store, at the end of the stay they will also just collect your gear from the boot room!We honestly couldn’t speak more highly of The Nook. Most of all though, we absolutely loved the staff. They were all so friendly and willing to have a chat whether that be on the shuttle, tips for where to ski or have dinner or just hanging around in the dining room. Every one of them, at some stage during our stay, went above and beyond to make this holiday one we will very fondly remember. I hope we can come back in the future and see how this lodge grows!
The Nook Lodge in Hakuba is an absolute gem and easily one of the best places to stay in the valley. From the moment I arrived I was welcomed with genuine warmth that instantly makes you feel at home. The lodge perfectly balances cozy alpine charm with modern comfort, creating a relaxing retreat after a day on the mountain.The rooms are spotless, well-designed, and incredibly comfortable, with thoughtful touches that show real attention to detail. The common areas are inviting and social without ever feeling crowded—perfect for unwinding, sharing stories, or planning the next day’s adventure.What truly sets The Nook Lodge apart is the staff. They go above and beyond to make your stay seamless, whether it’s helping with transport, lift passes, restaurant recommendations, or local tips. Their knowledge of Hakuba and passion for hospitality really shine through.The location is also excellent—close to the ski fields, restaurants, and nightlife, yet still quiet enough to feel peaceful. Whether you’re visiting Hakuba for skiing, snowboarding, or simply to enjoy the mountains, The Nook Lodge is a fantastic base.Highly recommended for anyone looking for comfort, great vibes, and outstanding service in Hakuba. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.
The nook was the best hospitality ive experienced in japan, the staff is super genuine and made our trip a lot better. Super comfy beds and cozy rooms and awesome bus service to town.
I had a great stay at The Nook Hakuba. Rooms were warm and comfortable. Staff were always friendly and went out of their way to show great hospitality. Breakfast was provided and the shuttles to and from the Hakuba bus station throughout the day were convenient.
Amazing stay at The Nook! The beds were incredibly comfy, the bar/common room had a great atmosphere, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. It was the perfect place to relax and warm up after a long day on the slopes. Can’t beat it. The best place to stay in Hakuba!
Great stay over 4 nights, very cozy lodge with friendly and attentive staff who always checked in and tried to go the extra mile to help and make our stay as enjoyable as possible.Would highly recommend and also plan to stay again in the future. Direct booking recommended, everything went smoothly from start to finish.
From the easy pickup from the bus station, to the bar, the staff and the greatly set accomodation, The Nook has been an amazing stay! Welcoming as they are joyful, I have never felt more accepted at an accomodation before. 5 Stars!
Found this place completely by chance and we were blown away by the hospitality! Great energy. Lovely rooms, big help with rentals and shuttle services. Would definitely recommend! Shoutout to the guy with the red beanie :)

I had an unreal experience staying at The Nook, everything was super convenient, the beds comfortable and the showers everything you want. The owners and staff are very easy going and quick to include you into their little family making my ski experience so much better. Thanks Guys
