Amazing experience! Recommend to everyone passing through Yudanaka and interested in Japanese culture. The hostess is a sweetheart that will walk you through the history of the place and the true meaning of the tea ceremony.
This was a great experience. The teacher was super nice and taught us a lot about tea and Japan in general. The building is very beautiful inside. I would recommend this experience!

初めての抹茶体験でしたが、とてもあたたかく心に残る時間になりました。亭主の方がとても親しみやすく、やさしいユーモアを交えながら案内してくださるので、緊張せずに楽しむことができました。ひとつひとつの所作がとても美しく、見ているだけで気持ちが落ち着いていくようでした。英語での説明もとても自然で、海外の方でも安心して参加できる雰囲気だと思います。伝統文化に触れる体験が、こんなにも心地よく感じられるのは本当に素敵なことだと感じました。またぜひ訪れて、あの穏やかな時間をもう一度味わいたいです。
I heard about Setsugetsuan through word of mouth. And I had an absolutely wonderful time /5 Setsugetsuan!This was my first tea ceremony experience, and it was very easy to follow. I actually enjoyed learning the meaning behind the beautiful Japanese language used.Moreover, the setting was traditional and very peaceful, and of course the matcha was delicious!I would highly recommend this experience to the visitors in the Snow Monkey area.
I visited Setsugetsuan’s matcha experience, available for a limited time in December — amazing value for money!If you’re going to see the Snow Monkeys in December, this is an absolute must-visit.
