I recall anchoring out in the bay aboard various U.S. Military Sealift Command LMSR’s. This was also the longest pier for bunkering a 950’ vessel. The base was quite the treat for us. The MWR did a great job welcoming us, the NEX had everything, we stayed in the BOQ (which was really nice & relaxing!), even bought Girl Scout cookies from an American troop on base! Outside the base, nobody cared and people were rude… but on base was really nice! This was all about twenty years ago, but had to review!! 👍👍🇺🇸😁🫡🛟⚓️🛳️
