My wife and I stopped to rest at the Orange Road Rest Area overlooking the former Kuga town on a cloudy Thursday in early spring. Even if we have been climbing in the mountains, and the mist of the cloud makes our hair wet, when we see the gazebo at the rest area, maybe there is a beautiful view of the Setouchi! We are in no hurry to get Itsukaichi for Tenpura, so take the time. The slow heart can be rewarded with a once in a lifetime sight. Take the chance. For those who are concerned with details, the date is 27 March, at 5:20 pm.Unlike Dakeyama on this Thursday, by the time we reach the Orange Road Rest Area we are below the cloud and can see the island and sea below us again. When I stop at the rest area, the parking area is clean and safe for most types of vehicles. However, painted parking lines are not available, so those who are lovers of orderly parking may be a little disappointed.Park the truck. A gazebo in the corner offers a rest area for tired drivers of the Orange Road to sit, even in the rainy season. The gazebo has an interesting square design, with two sides open and two sides sheltered for seating. When I look at the Sakura in the open area, I think that for a few weeks each year, the view must be very relaxing.Next to the gazebo is a wonderful pine tree and stone. The pine tree reaching out sideways from the stone gives a unique balance to the rest area. It makes me want to sit for a while, and take it in slowly. As for the view, the rest area itself is pretty, with many Kawazuzakura planted. Unfortunately, the view of the former Kuga town is a little . . . Well, it seems that many years ago when the rest area was built, the view was clear, but now the land below the rest area seems like it is private land . . . The trees growing up make it difficult to look out at the sea and the former Kuga town. It seems that clearing them may be a little . . .However, for Orange Road drivers who can time it perfectly, the rest area itself can be a perfect place for a Kawazuzakura viewing party. Please plan it on your next seasonal Orange Road trip. Even if the flowers are beautiful, do not forget to consider the pine! Please take it in slowly.Thank you for your consideration.
