Un vrai petit paradis perdu ! Dans le cœur des magnifiques montagnes avec une plage à couper le souffle. L’hôte est très gentil et accueillant. Il peut même vous faire à souper ! Je faisais la route du Kumano Kodo Iseji et je n’aurais pas pu espérer mieux comme arrêt. On dort avec le bruit des vagues tellement c’est près de l’eau. Je reviendrais assurément pour une retraite paisible sur la plage ou comme camp de base pour explorer les magnifiques points de vue de la région. Et il y en a plusieurs!
Aligato cosaymas to Maya and her husband Cedric's.I had a beautiful experience in the most beautiful place.The guest house is a peaceful and beautiful decorated. Clean and confortable.I felt I had a real Japanese life for the 5days I've spend there.Plus, If you dream to have a Ghibli's experiences , Mikisato and Yomaharoku will make your dreams come true.I wish google have a 6 stars rate!Thanks a lot.

Staying in Yamaharoku has been one of the best things of my trip in Japan. I have stayed two nights. In my stay I have had the chance of doing some nice hiking, having a swim in the sea in front of the house, and eat some very nice food with the hosts :)I have attached some pictures of the hike and the okonomiyaki we cooked!

Literally 30 seconds from Mikisato beach, you will have the pleasure to stay in a charming, eclectic, newly renovated traditional Japanese house. In the heart of a fishing village in the mountainous countryside in the Kumano region, it is a truly special experience to stay here and be within walking distance to the ocean and nearby river. For those wanting 5 star resort amenities, this accommodation is not for you. For those who enjoy the simplicity of “Inaka” living, traditional Japanese old style house, nature, outdoor activities like swimming, kayaking and fishing, this place is perfect. To top it all off, they provided homemade meals (vegan/vegetarian/pescetarian friendly) for an extra price that were super delicious and filling, highly recommend! At night, you can enjoy a bbq, see the incredible constellations in the night sky, and hear the sound of the waves in the sea. For me, this is my 5 star resort.
We really enjoyed our stay here. The house was beautifully decorated and well-maintained, offering us a true haven of peace in Mikisato for four days.It is located just a stone's throw from a magnificent beach in a very quiet neighborhood. We could feel the sense of well-being that comes with living here.The owners are extremely friendly and available.In short, this was one of the best places we stayed during our trip, and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to experience the Japanese countryside! 😻
Amazing location for this very cute, comfortable and well equipped guest house next the beach and to the amazing Kumano Kodo ancient pilgrimage route. The guests (a French-Japanese couple) were equally amazing with us. Definitely ask for the dinner and breakfast (vegans are welcome) option as well, they’re fresh, homemade, and delicious. Congrats!

Relaxing stay in a cozy, authentic Japanese guesthouse hosted by a welcoming French/Japanese couple, Cédric and Maya. It’s located literally in 30 sec from the Mikisato beach; It is so close that you can hear the ocean by opening the window of the guesthouse bathed in the sunray of the morning. The room is well-maintained and comfortable, and the decoration reflects the fun and friendly personality of the owners. They also have a small bathtub to sooth your body after coming back from a long hike of the Kumanoko-do. Highly recommended to rent a bicycle and explore the neighborhood full of wonderful views. True hidden gem in the ancient pilgrimage trails!
