Thank you Ayako & Daigo for being such amazing hosts! Hagi homestay was the highlight of my Japan trip. Ayako and Daigo are warm and welcoming people, very kind and easy to get along with. Their cooking is some of the best food I’ve ever had - especially Daigos special chicken. Thank you again!
This homestay is tucked away in the mountains of Hagi, Japan. The landscape is beautiful and it is a very unique experience to stay in this Japanese home! Ayako and Daigo are very friendly and kind. They make incredible homecooked meals with vegetables from their garden and they share many interesting stories about their lives and hobbies.
Great time staying here. Ayako-san and Daigo-san are very easy going and pleasant people to be with - and excellent cooks. Was so much fun chatting with them, and the location of their home is great. Very informative and relaxing and fun. A huge thank you!
The highlight of our trip to Japan! Ayako and her husband were amazing hosts welcoming us to their lovely relaxed home for our two night stay. They treated us to delicious traditional meals using their homegrown fresh vegetables. Ayako is very confident with conversing in English and we really enjoyed our evening discussions learning more about the Japanese lifestyle. Ayako understood our personal interests and went to some trouble to arrange a visit to a local school and a pottery shop.
Just spent 2 wonderful days with Ayako and Daigo. Authentic Japanese home. Spectacular views of the mountains and lovely home grown/cooked food. In particular Daigo's fried chicken and Ayako's cucumbers, home cooked bread, jams and many others too numerous to mention. Ayaki is easy going and very accommodating.
Great stay with Ayako and Daigo - wonderful glimpse into rural Japanese life, Ayako’s English is fantastic, and their cooking is incredible (they also accommodate dietary restrictions). Also great recommendations for things to do in the area!
Our Hagi home stay with Ayako and Daigo (and Honkey) was truly the highlight of our back roads of Japan experience. The family and their home are warm and welcoming and the location in the valleys of the mountains is breathtaking. There is a peace and beauty that is a wonderful contrast to the bustling cities of Japan. Thank you to our gracious hosts for sharing their home and way of life.
A fantastic stay!It is wonderful, sweet and warm family to stay with. They are very open and nice. I had a wonderful time there and I got to experience the daily life of a normal Japanese countryside family. I can definitely recommend this home stay to any interested in farming, Japanese life and culture, or someone who just want to get to know some fantastic people 😁👍
Amazing, Ayako and her family are wonderful and welcoming. I can't recommend them enough to people that want to learn more about Japan.I really enjoyed our conversations at meal times and while I was helping out with my volunteer work, I found that my Japanese Languageskills improved too from talking and learning in such a natural way.Ayako has a beautiful home and the view there is incredible, I stayed in the winter (early December) and out of the window you were able to see a sea of clouds.I really enjoyed my time staying here and I honestly consider it one of the highlights of my time in Japan

What an amazing experience! The views, the ride out to the side of the mountains, the extra “cat-temple” visit…, and I especially loved the homemade meals. Dinners and breakfasts were a true feast! Waking up in the morning on my futon, and hearing birds I’d never heard before, all the more special. Our hosts were first class, five star! I highly recommend this local, home stay experience.
