Overall smooth experience both purchasing a car while I was living in Japan, and more recently shipping it back to the states when I moved.Shipping process was a little disconcerting at first, as I had to give the export docs and control of the car over, but Abror and Giulio talked me through every step of the process from prepping the vehicle to tracking it and receiving it. I dropped the car off in July, had some delays with shipping due to tariff changes, and received my car in November. My car showed up just fine, no damages, and paperwork was received shortly thereafter. Registration with the supplied docs was easy enough, although I'll caveat and say make sure your import doc has an official stamp from customs. I was able to work that with the port to have a doc scanned to me and that was accepted by DMV for registration. Titling also required a State Trooper verification of the Japanese VIN, but that was a quick process accomplished same day as I requested it.Shipping times were longer than I'd anticipated, but not egregious given world events. The only marginal issue is that my aftermarket gear shift knob was stolen during transit. JDM Expo offered to request an investigation but I opted not to do that because the juice wasn't worth the squeeze. So my advice would be remove anything like that and replace with something you wouldn't mind losing if you're worried about it.Long process, but JDM Expo worked through everything with me, and at a cheaper price than what I was quoted from other shippers. Now to find a local mechanic and body shop to do some repairs I've wanted over the winter when she's not on the road!
Purchased a vehicle from out of country, which can be an overwhelming experience. However, JDM Expo assisted in the process and made it completely seamless. I was given updates along the way, as well as photos and videos of my vehicle as it entered each stage of the purchase and shipping process.Will definitely recommend to others!
Worked with Giulio at JDM Expo to import a car and the experience was solid. I purchased my Chaser on January 28, 2025, and it arrived on June 7, 2025 — so just over 4 months total. Giulio answered all my questions, kept me updated throughout, and made the process straightforward. There were a couple of delays, but that’s expected when importing and wasn’t on their end.They helped source a car that matched exactly what I was looking for, and everything went smoothly from purchase to delivery. The car arrived as described with no unexpected issues. Communication was clear, and the staff was easy to deal with. Would use them again if I decide to import another vehicle
Had a good experience using JDM EXPO to source/purchase/store/import my S15 Silvia, a long term dream of mine! Giulio was fantastic, gave me the white glove treatment from start to finish which was about 10 months. He built my trust with his responsiveness, knowledge, and candidness which was critical for me to be comfortable purchasing a vehicle thousands of miles away. John is also a notable mention who cared for my car while in storage and helped me source/install some parts while there.I have very high expectations and there were a few challenges along the way that they did their best to handle, which I appreciate. Importing a vehicle is fairly involved process and their experience show up well.Thank you Giulio, John, and the JDM EXPO team!
Oh man, where do I begin. These guys are patient and understanding. I initially emailed them in pursuit of a Celica GT4 (ST-205). They responded in a timely manner, but something to note is that they are in Japan. This just means be patient with replies because depending on where you live, their day is our night and vice versa.They worked with me on getting a vehicle around my price range as well, not rushing or pressuring me to make a sale. I requested an inspection on one of the Celica's they showed me, which did end up costing around 30,000JPY (around 250 USD), but was worth it. The amount of information they gave me plus a phone call (which I gave them to my more knowledgeable mechanic friend), was more than enough to make a judgement call on the vehicle (they also sent detailed videos, a ton of photos, and if they could they would've test drove it as well. In this case, they couldn't).After some time, and some rejected offers later, is when we came across a Celica in current auction. They managed to get the vehicle for 2 mil JPY (was about 15.5k USD at the time). This is an outstanding price for the condition this vehicle was in as well. Here is when their patience and understanding kick in to overdrive or at least from my perspective.I am 22 years old, which means I am dumb. I thought I would be able to afford this vehicle, but adding on the import cost and I did not. I needed a loan. I swear I kept extending payment deadlines for three months. They are still a business though, so I did eventually receive a hard deadline, but that was about three months after I said I could pay the vehicle in full. In the end I did end up getting all the money necessary, but definitely do not do what I did, just make sure you have all the money upfront.When all was said and done, I did end up overpaying about 3k USD due to my bank losing a wire transfer and then finding it three months after I paid the vehicle off, just for it to pop up to its destination (this caused me so much stress). I asked them to check the payments with their respected wire transfer confirmation numbers and they agreed that I did end up overpaying. For the amount I overpaid, they couldn't taken it and ran, but didn't. After some talking, we decided to have that money sent back my way and after some time it did get all sent back (the amount I overpaid that is). It did take some time due to their restrictions (they could only send about 1k USD back per month).I was extremely pleased with the service I received and when I do another imported JDM vehicle, I am definitely doing one with them (just this time having all the money upfront).
I absolutely love my 180sx Type X that I bought from JDM EXPO! I was honestly a little nervous when I sent the first message, but Guilio did an absolute amazing job answering all of the questions I had about the car, and I had a lot 😅. The process and delivery is super smooth and they kept me up to date every step of the way. If you're thinking about getting a car from Japan definitely hit these guys up, they will absolutely take care of you!!
程度の良いＦＤ３Ｓを探しに、JDM .EXPOに来ました。他の展示車両のクオリティーが凄く良くて、色々と参考になりました。他のチューニングショップも見てきましたが、JDMで車を買う予定です。

Hey, I just wanted to say that this is a very great company to work with. I am from the USA myself I ended up looking at three different car models of the celica i was looking at,and I just recently ordered a celica GT four From them!
