江戸時代の伝説に由来する鷹狩りの松です。
鷹狩りにまつわる歴史的な背景があります。
前沢サービスエリアの駐車場中央にある立派な松。江戸時代前期、伊達政宗の次男（嫡男）である2代藩主伊達忠宗公が、鷹狩りをした地として伝承があり、のちに故事に因んで鷹狩りの松と命名したようです。
前沢サービスエリアに一本だけある松です。

The magnificent pine tree standing in the center of Maezawa Service Area's parking lot. Legend has it that this was the site where Date Tadamune, the second lord of the domain and second son (heir apparent) of Date Masamune, engaged in falconry during the early Edo period. It seems the tree was later named the Falconry Pine in reference to this historical tale.
