A bit heavy on the wasabi, but still best sushi all around. I was getting bored w the omakase experience, and he hits it out of the park with his creativity and meticulousness. You won’t regret it. And will walk out FULL, which is rather hard(er) in Japan. Did I mention the fantastic wine list with great pricing?
先日お伺いさせていただきました。赤酢のシャリをベースに大ぶりでかつ繊細な味のお寿司を10品以上いただきました。赤酢のシャリの酸味が強くてネタが負けてしまうという事が往々にしてあるのですが、そんなことはなくとても美味しくいただけました。からすみをお餅で挟む事や白子を辛みのついたタレにつけて食べるなど発想がユニークで面白かったです。また行きたい。
Stellar experience overall, but taking off a star because the seasoning on each piece was very inconsistent. Came in Oct 2025 and the menu included 22 courses total. You can see Chef Ishizaka's mastery in every piece he makes, however the seasoning varied too much and some pieces were overly salty, several others had so much wasabi that my eyes watered, others were perfectly fine. It even varied between me and my husband on the same course (i.e. my sawara had entirely too much wasabi whereas my husband barely tasted it in his).The service couldn't have been better - it's just a husband and wife team, and both of them are unfailingly kind and welcoming. They also recommended a few sakes that went very well with the sushi.

味、量、スピード、おもてなし、お気遣い、会話の内容や頻度、言葉遣い、滲み出るお人柄、店内の内装など、どの要素をしても超一流で勉強になります。ごちそうさまでした!

Just like most people, I found this hidden gem by way of Reddit. I came on my last night in Tokyo after a 3-week tour of Japan and it was easily the highlight of my trip.There were only 2 groups (me and another couple) at the counter that evening, but the husband-and-wife team took care of us extremely well. Ishizaka-san spoke decent English and did his best to explain all the courses, while his wife served us warmly.The tsunami dishes here are some of the best I've ever had. The turnip and karasumi mochi (dry aged mullet roe) were standouts. The karasumi had a perfect salty depth paired with the chewy rice cake.The nigiri pieces were impressively large, which I personally consider a major plus. Watching the chef work is mesmerizing; his gripping technique is unique and truly an art form to observe.The shari (sushi rice) here is seasoned with a distinct blend of vinegars, providing a bold, warm acidity that stands up well to the substantial cuts of fish.My personal highlight was the Botan Ebi (Spotted Prawn). It was so massive that the chef split it into two courses: a succulent tsumami and a beautiful nigiri. To finish, the soy sauce ice cream offered a perfect, savory-sweet end to the meal.I was very hesitant to come here because of the Tableall upcharge and low Tabelog scores, but I was not disappointed. Highly recommended for those who appreciate technique and generous portions.
