この駅は最初はありませんでしたが後に宅地開発するに辺り駅が作られました、一時期この駅までの折り返し列車が存在していました。
山に囲まれたとてものどかな駅でした。
よく考えたらデカイ。
駅の東側は系列の不動産会社が手掛けた住宅街が広がる。東山止まりの電車のアナウンスで「元山上口から先へお越しのお客様はえ萩の台駅出の乗り換えが便利です」とアナウンスされる。
改札口を出てマンションの周りにはあります。
