静かで休まります。風のある日はとても涼しくすごせます。Koyasu ShrineKaihotsu, Wada-cho, Minamiboso CityA shrine long known to locals simply as "Koyasu-sama" — a place of quiet warmth on the Minamiboso coast.Said to have been founded in 1220, the enshrined deity is Toyotama-hime-no-Mikoto, a goddess revered as a guardian of safe childbirth and child-rearing. For eight centuries, families have brought their hopes and prayers to this place.Its origins carry a remarkable legend.Long ago, a great storm swept through Awa Province. When the winds finally calmed, a small boat drifted ashore on the village beach — carrying three sacred figures radiating light in seven colors. The villagers built shrines for each, and so the guardian deities of the community came to rest here.There is another story, quieter and more tender. One day, children took a sacred figure from the shrine and floated it down the river in play. The villagers, alarmed, quickly returned it to the shrine and locked the doors. That night, the deity appeared in the dreams of the villagers and spoke: "I play in the river with the children to protect them from drowning." From that night on, the villagers opened the shrine so the deity could move freely among them.A god who waded into the river to be with the children. That image says everything about the spirit of this place.Festivals are held three times a year, offering prayers for a good harvest and giving thanks to the land. A stone said to grant the blessing of children still stands quietly in the grounds, waiting to be found.子安神社（こやすじんじゃ）南房総市和田町海発地元の人たちに長く「子安様」と呼ばれてきた神社がある。創建は承久2年（1220年）と伝えられ、祭神は豊玉姫命（とよたまひめのみこと）。安産・子育ての守護神として、この地に根を張り続けてきた。その始まりには、不思議な伝説が残っている。鎌倉時代、安房国を襲った暴風が静まると、村の浜辺に小舟が流れ着いた。舟の中には七色の光を放つ三体のご神像が乗っていたという。村人たちはそれぞれに社を造り、村の鎮守とした。ある時、子どもたちがご神体を川に流して遊んでいた。驚いた村人が急いで社殿に安置し鍵をかけると、その夜ご神体が夢枕に立ち「幼童と共に川に戯れるは、溺死を護らんためなり」とお告げになった。それ以来、村人たちはご神体を開帳するようになったという。子どもの命を守ろうとした神の姿が、この神社の温かさをそのまま伝えている。年3回の大祭では五穀豊穣への祈りが捧げられ、地域の暮らしに寄り添い続けている。境内には子授かり石も残り、今も静かに参拝者を迎えている。
