We recently travelled to Japan as a group of 4. Kristi and her team organised a fantastic itinerary and we packed so much into our 10 night stay. From airport pickup, personal guides for walking tours of Tokyo, the Shibuya Crossing, food markets, Arashiyama bamboo grove, Kinkakuji, Hiroshima and Osaka Castle to name a few of the sites we visited. Our local guides each had their own unique way of sharing history and information and kept us entertained. We even enjoyed a stay in a Japanese home with a traditional Onsen.Our travels ran smoothly, even when we were running late. Train travel is awesome! We highly recommend Custom Japan Tours - and we will use them again!
We had an excellent experience with Kristi from Custom Japan Tours. She arranged both our airport pick-up and drop-off in Japan, and everything was seamless from start to finish.Travelling with an 11-month-old can be stressful, but Kristi made sure the correct car seats were organised for every transfer, which gave us a lot of peace of mind. Communication throughout the entire process was excellent — quick responses, clear information, and very helpful service.The pricing was also very reasonable for the quality and reliability provided. Both drivers were professional, punctual, and made us feel very safe and comfortable during transport.We would absolutely recommend Kristi and Custom Japan Tours to anyone travelling in Japan, especially families with young children.
We have just returned from 3 weeks in Japan. We were very lucky to choose Custom Japan Tours as our tour company during our stay. We have nothing but praise for this company. They made our whole stay so easy and effortless. The attention to detail, from when we landed till they accompanied us to the airport on our return, was unparalleled. All the guides spoke very good English and they were all so interesting, some very quirky some very kind and some very caring. They accommodated our every request and we can honestly say that all the group ticked all the boxes of what they expected from Japan. No request was to much for Kristi, the owner. We highly recommend this company and definitely give it a 5 star.
Kristi helped make my week in Tokyo a treasure to remember forever.Her experience as a teacher, Japanese linguist, and extensive experience of facilitating group and individual tours in Japan and Tokyo made my modest requests a walk in the park for her, and me.I’ve travelled this wonderful planet for work over a 25yr period and revel in scratching the surface of whichever culture I’m in…. Highly Recommended Custom Japan Tours!Our family recently took a cruise from Australia to Alaska via Japan, and one of the absolute highlights of our trip was the time we spent in Japan — thanks to Custom Japan Tours. They organized private tours for all our stops, and every one of them was fantastic. The guides were friendly, knowledgeable, and completely flexible, tailoring each tour to suit our family's interests and pace.Compared to the cruise line's shore excursions, Custom Japan Tours offered a much more personal, in-depth, and enjoyable experience. If your cruise includes stops in Japan, I can’t recommend them enough. It made all the difference in how we experienced the country!
We have travelled to Japan on 2 different occasions in the past year - in summer and in the following spring. Recently we went on a cruise around Japan as a family and Custom Japan Tours arranged all our private short excursions in Japan. It was so much better than going on a big bus and we got to see so much more. All our guides were amazing and everyone communicated throughout. Kristi went above and beyond to ensure that our tours covered everything we wanted to see plus’s a couple of extras. Our tours included baseball, night and day food and sake, castles, cherry blossom and lots of stunning scenery. I highly recommend CJT.
