近くの古代寺院へのフィールドワークができ、特別な月毎のイベントも魅力です。
美しい歴史的建物内で、自然に囲まれた静かな創作空間が提供されています。
フィールドワークにも向いているレジデンスです。ここで滞在制作したあとに、新しい作品の構想がうまくまとまりました。ギャラリースペースは、室内からそのまま美しい自然に繋がっていく面白い造りです。お世話になりました。ありがとうございます。また伺いたいです。
I had the honor of staying at this artist residency last June, and it was a truly magical experience. The community of artists here is warm and welcoming, and the residency is run by Momo, a wonderful artist with deep knowledge of the local history. She introduced me to many incredible people, including Takashima Sakurai, who founded and built the residency space. I had the chance to watch his films and meet the ceramics and temple-repair artists who have studios on the grounds.I happened to visit during the New Moon, and we joined a group from the community herb garden for their monthly walk to an ancient temple. Momo, Sakurai-san, and the other artists also showed me around their beautiful town, showing me some of the most impressive temple grounds I’ve seen in Japan.The residency itself is a newly renovated space inside a beautiful historic Japanese building with an amazing view, surrounded by stunning mountains and Lake Biwa. It’s perfect for spending quiet, creative time surrounded by nature and fellow artists. Highly recommended for artists seeking an inspiring community experience in Shiga.

교토에서 가깝지만, 복잡하지 않고 조용합니다.더욱이 비와코 주변의 현대적인 느낌에서 살짝 벗어나 있어, 시간여행을 왔다는 느낌이 들었어요.사색하고 집중하기에 매우 좋은 곳이라고 생각되어 잠시 개인작업을 위해 머물러 보았습니다.시간이 멈춘 듯한 한적함 속 자연이 매력이기에 언젠가 다시 좀 더 긴 시간 머물러 볼 예정입니다:)
