大きい道路から少し階段を登ります。中が見えない事もあってなかなか人は立ち寄らないところですが、「石投げ地蔵」という名前に惹かれて訪れました。案内板には以下が書かれています。興味深い！ー石投げ地蔵の由来ーこのお地蔵さんは、筑前風土記に「塩煮塚」と記録される古い歴史をもつものである。昔この付近は、宝満山に入峰の折り、山伏が断食修行しながら通った処である伝説の中に、太郎坊と云う山伏が修行半ばにして、この地に倒れたのを、石を積み上げて祀り供養したのが、その名の起りである境内に多数ある小石は、イボの治療に効くと云われ、昔から「イボ取り地蔵」として、近郷よりの参拝客が後を断たないまた近隣の人々は、安産子安の地蔵として信仰し、種々の願いも叶えて下さる霊験あらたかなお地蔵さんであるIt's a short climb up a flight of stairs from the main road. Interesting!—The Origin of Stone-Throwing Jizo—This Jizo has a long history, recorded as "Shionizuka" (Salt-Boiling Mound) in the Chikuzen Fudoki (a historical and geographical record of Chikuzen Province).In the past, this area was a place that mountain ascetics passed through while fasting on their way to Mount Homan.According to legend, a mountain ascetic named Tarobo collapsed in this place midway through his training, and stones were piled up to enshrine and commemorate him, which is the origin of the name.The numerous small stones in the precincts are said to be effective in treating warts, and for a long time, it has been known as the "Wart-Removing Jizo," attracting a constant stream of worshippers from the surrounding area.Furthermore, local people worship it as a Jizo for safe childbirth and child-rearing, and it is a miraculous Jizo that grants various wishes.
