The owner is one of a kind. I speak simple broken Japanese and he was able to explain to me how HE MAKES some of the very tools in that shop himself. This is exactly what I came to Japan for. And all the other stuff too I guess. Bought one of his small saws and a blue steel marunomi(gouge) made by his friend. I visited about 4 other shops between here and Osaka and so far this is the only one I believe is truly worth going out of your way for. It’s not that the selection is massive, it’s good but no department store. It’s the fact that the maker is the owner, and its businesses and craftsmen like this I would like to support.
Wonderful experience! Great selection of custom knives, saws, chisels, hand planes, adze, gardening tools and many other hand tools. The owner of the shop speaks almost no English but he was very kind and was able to help me find what I was looking for. I ended up leaving with a kanna that was in my price range and he even gifted my wife a tool for gardening that he himself had made. We couldn’t have had a sweeter experience, the whole time I was looking around he wanted to show me different things or what he had made. Truly a great little shop for high quality tools and knives.
Great shop, many different types of knifes and tools. Small shop, owner was very kind and helped me choose the knife I wanted. Got there 10min before closing time and with his help was able to secure a knife for a lifetime. Thank you kind owner!
品揃え等ではなく店主の知識や姿勢に感銘をうけました。良いものがありますが手頃な物は少ないかと思います。
El dueño no habla inglés perp es amable. Ademas de cuchilloa tiene muchas herramientas de carpinteria, cepillos japonenes, serruchos, formones, erc de baatante buena calidad pero los precios son muy altos y prácticamente no tiene productos más accesibles de precio.Tiene productos muy artesanales, de segunda mano y usados, pero aún esos tienen precios muy altos. No uso la palabra caros, porque probablemente los productos lp valgan, pero yo no tengo el dinero.
Saws, knives and carpentry tools for sale, also maintenance of saws and knives, such as sharpening. The shop is in this location since 80 years. The owner only speaks Japanese, but he is friendly and the quality of the tools is very good👍
包丁を自分で研いでいると、砥石も窪んだりします。こちらでは定期的に、砥石ごとメンテナンスしてくれます。
母の形見の包丁のもち手を直すか新しい物を買うか？悩んで直しのつもりで持っていき、商品を見せると、「直しても折れるから、折れるまで使うか！」とあっさり言われ、お店で捨てて、新しい物を購入。心の迷いもスッキリしました。研ぎも1700円で砥石でといでくれます。ワンちゃんも、可愛いです。
竹専用の鋸や刃物類販売と共に刃のメンテナンスもしておられます。素晴らしいお店です。
