東山神明神社の特徴

這次造訪神明神社，可惜正逢大雪過後，積雪過厚導致階梯與山徑濕滑難行，基於安全考量最終沒能登上本殿，感到有些遺憾。神明神社作為當地重要的信仰中心，環境顯得格外莊嚴且寧靜，雪景下的鳥居呈現出一種孤傲的美感。提醒計畫在冬季前往的旅人，務必準備專業的防滑雪靴或冰爪，並事先確認雪況，以免像我一樣受阻於山腳。雖然這次未能完整參拜，但那份被白雪覆蓋的神聖氛圍依舊令人印象深刻，期待下次能在好天氣時再次挑戰，感受神社完整的歷史底蘊。I visited Shinmei Shrine recently, but unfortunately, the heavy snowfall made the steps and mountain paths extremely thick and slippery. For safety reasons, I couldn't make it to the main hall, which was quite a pity. As an important spiritual center in the region, the shrine's surroundings felt exceptionally solemn and peaceful, with the torii gate looking stunningly beautiful against the white snow. A quick tip for winter travelers: please bring professional snow boots or crampons and check the weather conditions beforehand to avoid being turned back at the base. Despite the incomplete journey, the sacred atmosphere under the snow was deeply impressive. I look forward to returning on a clearer day to fully experience its history.
Higashiyama Shinmei Shrine feels like a little forest shrine world of its own, with a long mossy stairway leading up through the trees from the torii gate. The highlight is the open ema hall filled with old horse paintings, built from timbers reused when Takayama Castle was demolished, which gives the place a strong sense of history. Hardly anyone was here when we visited, so it was incredibly quiet and atmospheric, especially with the sound of the wind in the cedar trees.
2025/4/19参拝東山三社。
⛩東山寺院群の一角を形成⛩市街地の東方にある小高い山の裾には十を越える寺社が連ねて建っている。その中で東山神明神社は天照寺と素玄寺との間の坂道を登り切ったところに位置する社である。いつ創建されたのかはわかっていないが、古くから信仰されてきたという。一段低いところの絵馬殿は元髙山城内の月見殿が移築されたものと伝わり、日本遺産の一つである。
辿りつけなかったです。1月下旬の雪がまだあるときに行きましたが、雪があってどこが神社の入り口なのかさっぱりわからず、諦めて帰りました。国道158号の方から行ったのですが、違うのでしょうか？行かれる方はよく調べてから行った方が良いと思います。

We were there on December 29, and there were very few tourists, so it was peaceful. On the way, there is a cemetery, and you have to walk through it to reach the shrine. If you are looking for a peaceful place, something simple and close to nature, this is a good spot. Just don’t expect too much—it’s a small shrine with a forest-like atmosphere.
