This historical temple was there for over 800 years. It was founded by Shoko shonin, successer of Honen Shonin who founded Jodoshu the Pure Land School of Buddhism in Japan.There is grave stone of Shoko shonin in the temple yard. Also there is a monument of 1000 days Nembutsu recitation infront of the temple gate. the present head priest is 51st from founder. It is located near Mii machi bus stop.
