A seafood restaurant in a beautiful bay run by Ama-san (female divers) who free dive for seafood. The location used to be a pearl harvesting ground but was turned into a restaurant recently.There are indoor seats as well as a patio for outdoor seating where guests can enjoy the tranquil atmosphere and seafood at the same time.We ordered the 3000 yen omakase menu, which came with 2 shellfish, seaweed salad, cooked fish, seafood tendon, and miso soup. All the dishes were amazingly fresh. The breathtaking view also adds to the whole experience.The Ama-san who run the restaurant are super friendly and more than happy to share about their experience with guests.Definitely worth a stop if you are in the area.

What an absolutely wonderful experience 😲 In my 10 trips to Japan I have not before experienced a more picturesque ocean-side setting. An enchanting bay harbouring fishing boats and floating pearl operators under clear blue skies on the clearest water you could imagine.The Ama-san (Ama ladies) operating the ama food experience are extremely kind and fun to spend time with, some of the nicest Japanese people I've ever spent time with in Japan. They provide so much more than just a meal, it is a complete experience with authentic Ama-san in traditional diving attire in an extremely clean and beautifully designed establishment.The food is incredible ! The karrage Ika/squid nori rice bowl served with special miso soup was absolutely delicious and very reasonably priced. During my time in Shima, I visited 4 ama establishments this is by far the best. I hope to return again and experience the Ama-san's full grilled seafood banquet.If you place this as the centre of your Shima visit you will have enjoyed the most wonderful authentic experience you could have in the whole Mie prefecture.There are numerous ama museums, ama huts & ama experiences in south Shima, and I suggest you visit them all, BUT be sure to make your way here you'll be VERY glad you did. てごね寿司は新鮮で、とても美味しかったです！バタガイもプリプリで美味しかったです。行かれる前は事前にお電話された方がいいかと思います。景色がとても美しく、また行きたい場所となりました。１年ほど前にできたこともあり、施設全体が綺麗です。
