東北大学留学生寮は、懐かしい思い出が詰まった場所です。
静かな環境の中で、将来のノーベル賞候補者が生活しています。
古風な外観でありながら、快適で便利なアパートです。
Tohoku University Sanjo University House 1, 3 and International House 1 is located togather here.A great place to live in.
I used to live her for a year. The place was great if you don't mind the old looking exterior. The interior was fine, though. It's the second cheapest dormitory of Tohoku Daigaku (the cheapest dorm was in a very detached area). The room was pretty spacious, furnished, and had its own kitchen so it's very convenient. The toilet and shower room were shared so I think that's the biggest drawback. They also installed coin laundry at the top floor for residents to use.The lobby was spacious and people could also lend it for event if they booked them beforehand. Though sometimes it's kinda noisy if people decided to hold a party there.Good location, only 1 minute away from Familymart, Lawson, and Seven Eleven. A bit far from the nearest station, though. The residents mostly commute by bus (at least for people who study at Kawauchi Campus).Basically if you want your own space and your own kitchen with above drawback, then this one is the best choice for you. If you want a bit better interior, then you could go with the second or third building.I'd like to live here again but I'm not a college student anymore so I'm ineligible haha.
If you are a student or couple then consider this place.

場所の面でより良いより良い寮の一つ（少し古いですが）。留学生のコミュニティは歓迎しています。大学生を引き付けることを目的とした多くのイベントが、年間を通してロビーで開催されています。（原文）One of the better better dorms in terms of location (albeit a bit old). The community of international students are welcoming. Many events aimed at engaging university students are held in the lobby throughout the year.

I stayed at International House Sanjo 1 for a short period, around three months, as I had the opportunity to participate in a student exchange program for research at Tohoku University.The building is quite old—it was built back in 1983—so we're not allowed to do things like stick items on the walls or hammer nails into them, as the management is concerned about possible damage.That said, by Indonesian standards, the building is still in excellent condition (at least in my opinion). The room itself is also very nice.The furnishings are complete. There's a small kitchen inside the room with separate faucets for washing and for drinking water. There's also a hot water tap, which is especially useful during winter for washing kitchen utensils. The room is equipped with a refrigerator, air conditioner, room heater, a small dining table, a study desk, and a desk lamp. Like most rooms in Japan, there’s also an emergency helmet available for disaster evacuation.The bathroom and toilet are located in a separate area or shared space, but they’re close to the rooms and very easy to access. And yes, they are extremely clean.During my stay at IH Sanjo 1, I often cooked for myself, so having a kitchen was very helpful.In the shared areas, there’s a spacious lobby, a reading room, and on each floor, there’s a common room that can be used. On the top floor, there’s a coin laundry and dryer available for residents to use.The location is very strategic, with two bus stops just a 3–5 minute walk away. Kitayama Station, which is part of the JR train network, is also within walking distance—around 15 minutes on foot. It’s not far, though the walk is uphill.Overall, IH Sanjo 1 is quite comfortable, and there are many international students living here.
