Near 高松 station, the owner is so friendly, I'm whoteheartly recommand you come here. So Nice~
The couple are super friendly. Ojisan has been studied in Taiwan during his primary school time. It is our honor to listen to his life time experience in Taiwan. The hotel has well managed and keep in Showa style as been there for over 60 years. Set up by current owner's father and they keep everything that way. It is like living a old time and absolutely part of Setouchi Triennale. We appreciate the owner keep the hotel that way.
Makiya||Mine was the last available room in Takamatsu I was told so I took it even though it was expensive for its level. That is probably the only circumstance I'd go back there again. No. I wouldn't go even then. I'd go to another town. ||||They charged me exactly what I'd paid the night before for a newly-renovated double, western-style room in Tokushima prefecture with two meals, my own bathroom and toilet and free internet . That hotel also had a nice ofuro. It is also what I pay in Tokyo in Shibuya for a freshly renovated Japanese-style double room with similar facilities to the one in Tokushima. |||| I was charged for a "double" room. I'm not sure where the second person would have fitted. It was less than half the size of the two I'm comparing it with. The place was old and smelt like a second-hand bookshop. All the facilities were shared, old and decrepit. No meals were included. They didn't even give you anything to wear at night. I understand this was an oversight. This is the only place in Japan I have experienced this. I rely on them providing a yukata or pyjamas. There were 2 Japanese toilets for the whole hotel. The hot water wasn't hot until the time you requested a shower. As far as I could tell there was only one hand basin for teeth cleaning. ||||It was in a quiet alley, but for the early part of the night, something very noisy was going on nearby. It sounded almost like a railway shunting yard or something equally noisy. I realised in the morning it was the hydraulic multi-storey car park next door. ||||My room was flooded with light all night- by a street light and flashing yellow light on a window side, and the (undarkened) back of an exit light on the other. ||||Obviously, there was no wifi or internet. ||||I'd be more charitable had they charged a more reasonable price. But I'll judge them by comparable places I've stayed at for the same amount. They have set the market for themselves and they just don't make the grade or anywhere near it. ||||It is not worth it at half the price. ||||It does have good location and it's clean and provides a roof over your head. Most of the other customers were young, and packed into a room it might have worked out about as cheap as a hostel.
