知人の墓参りで、須坂市の坂田霊園を初訪問。須坂自体が初めてで、土地勘ゼロの状態でした。結論から言うと、ここは完全に「観光地」ではなく、地域の方が利用する落ち着いた公営霊園です。隣接する天徳寺と合わせて訪れる流れになりますが、実質的な目的地はこの坂田霊園になる人が多いと思います。まず感じたのは、とにかく敷地が広くお墓の数が多いこと。駐車場も複数箇所に点在しているため、事前に場所を把握していないと目的の区画にたどり着くまで少し迷う可能性があります。ただし、各エリアごとに名称と看板がしっかり設置されているので、一度位置関係を理解すれば目印としては分かりやすい印象でした。設備面についてはシンプルで、売店や管理棟のようなものは見当たりません。水場はありますが、水桶や柄杓は置かれておらず、代わりにヤカンが用意されていました。掃除道具も共用のものは見当たらなかったため、必要なものは事前に準備しておく前提です。また、立地が山の斜面ということもあり、階段が多めです。足腰に不安がある方や車椅子での移動は正直なところ大変だと感じました。総じて、派手さや利便性よりも「静かに手を合わせる環境」を重視した霊園という印象です。初めて訪れる場合は、事前準備と場所の確認をしておくと安心です。---Visited Sakata Cemetery in Suzaka, Nagano for the first time to pay respects at a friend’s grave. There are water stations, but no shared buckets or ladles — instead, kettles are provided. There also didn’t seem to be any shared cleaning tools, so it’s best to bring what you need in advance.Because the cemetery is built along a hillside, there are many stairs.
