I stayed at Guesthouse Mio in Omihachiman last night, and it was a truly lovely experience. As a whole-house rental, it offered both comfort and privacy, which made our stay especially relaxing.The house itself has the charm of a traditional old townhouse, yet the interior has been thoughtfully and beautifully modernized. Everything was exceptionally clean, and it was easy to appreciate the care and effort that had gone into maintaining the property. The rooms felt cozy and warm, creating a very welcoming atmosphere.The house has two levels, which suited our family very well. Since we were traveling with our young daughter, we found it very convenient to sleep on the first floor. The second floor, with its comfortable sofa, was a wonderful place to unwind. We especially enjoyed spending a quiet moment there, looking out toward the Hachiman-bori canal.Our stay in the old town was only for one night, and it truly felt too short. Omihachiman has a calm and charming atmosphere that deserves more time to appreciate. We also had a wonderful Omi beef dinner at MARUTAKE Oumi-Nishigawa (まるたけ近江西川), and my daughter absolutely loved the pastries from La Collina Omihachiman.One small personal note: the corridor light near the washroom appears to be motion-activated. It was a little surprising in the middle of the night when the light suddenly switched off in complete silence, especially since I had not expected it beforehand. It was not a major issue, but knowing about it in advance would have made the experience feel less unusual.Overall, it was a very enjoyable and memorable stay, and I would be happy to return again.
落ち着いてとても過ごしやすいお宿でした。
很棒的民宿，房間乾淨，環境優美，離八幡宮、八幡堀、八幡山纜車站都很近，很適合來這邊住個一、兩天。我們自駕兩台sienta來這邊，老闆會幫忙安排免費車位。
とても素敵なゲストハウスでした。お部屋の雰囲気もよく、清潔で落ち着けました。直前に日程を変更した際には親切に対応してくださいましたし、地元のお店についても教えていただき助かりました。何より感激したことが、記念日で旅行する旨を伝えたところサプライズをご用意してくださっていたことです！！とても驚きました…！娘との心に残る旅行になりました。本当にありがとうございました。次は連泊したいです！

澪に行くとは思っていなかった。私には世話をする子供が3人います。ただ休む場所だと思いました。私たちが到着した日、家は喜びに満ちていました。オーナーさんからの温かいおもてなし、隣のパン屋さんからのおいしい職人のパン、ケーキ屋さんの匂い、通りの向かいにある運河（八幡堀堀）はとてもリアルで魅力的でした。澪で4泊4日過ごしました。家の片側からは、活気と音に満ちた通りを見渡せます。反対側は静かで平和です。裏庭に柿の木があり、3歳の子供がカブトムシと遊んでいるのを見ていました。私は単に家にいること、時には料理をすること、時には洗濯をすること、ほとんどが寝ることを楽しんだ。澪の周りにはやることがたくさんありました。山までロープウェイカーに乗って、地元のレストランで食事をしたり、琵琶湖や温泉のビーチでリラックスしたりしました。それでも何よりも、トトロのようにその話を聞いて家にいることでした。私の1歳の子供は、庭でクマ（タヌキ）と呼んでいました。居間はとても広々としていて、5歳の子供は無傷で快適に空手を練習することができました。道で雨が舞うのを見た。私たち5人全員が赤ちゃんのように眠り、必要な休息を取りました。私の経験が素晴らしいときでさえ、私は決してレビューを書きませんが、私はこれをしなければなりませんでした。強くお勧めします。（原文）I had no expectations going to Mio. I have three children to look after. Just a place to rest, - I thought. On the day we arrived the house was filled with joy. The warmest welcome from the owners, a yummy loaf of artisan bread from the bakery next door, the smells of the cake shop and the canal (Hachiman bori moat) just across the street were so real and so inviting.We spent 4 days and nights at Mio.One side of the house overlooks the street full of life and sounds. Other side is quiet and peaceful. There is a persimmon tree in the backyard and it was watching my 3 year old playing with a horn beetle.I enjoyed simply being in the house, sometimes cooking, sometimes doing laundry, mostly sleeping.There was so much to do around Mio. We rode a rope way car to the mountain, ate at many local restaurants, relaxed at the beach on Biwa lake and onsen. Yet best of all was to stay in the house listening to its story a little like Totoro.My 1 year old played with a Bear she called it (Tanuki) in the garden. The living room is so spacious that my 5 year old could comfortably practice karate without any damage. I watched the rain dancing on the road. All 5 of us slept like babies getting much needed rest.I never write a review even when my experience is superb but I had to do this one.Highly recommended.
八幡堀の目の前にある素敵な古民家です。４人で泊まりましたが、広々としていて快適そのものでした。お布団やお風呂などは大変きれいで、ホテルのような快適さを味わえます。ここのゲストハウスで、最もすばらしいと思ったのは、こちらのオーナーさん方のおもてなしです。駅まで迎えにきてくださるのはもちろんのこと、ゲストハウスのオーナーさんのお仕事以上に関わってくださり、おかげですばらしい時間となりました。また、ゲストハウスの隣に美味しいケーキ屋さん、５分くらいのところにクラフトビールのお店があるなど、とても便利な場所にあります。かなりおすすめです！！

When we booked we didn’t realize just how spacious the guesthouse is. It’s really big and has plenty of room for 8 people to comfortably stay. Mio has been beautifully renovated and the house of course feels new and is extremely clean. The kitchen and house in general has everything you might need and the bath and bathroom is larger than in a standard hotel. We found Guesthouse Mio to be outstanding value for money. This, along with the Guesthouse’s super location (next to Omihachman Moat) and the hosts being so friendly and welcoming meant we could could really relax and enjoy a memorable stay. Highly recommended on all counts! A ‘must stay’ for anyone headed to Omihachiman.

よい場所であるが、駐車場が1台しかない。wifiの設備はあるが、つながらない。「そういう時があるんですよ〜。すみません」だということみたい。
