This home stay is nicely converted & modernized from an old shop house. Interior space is charming & spacious. There are both indoor & outdoor onsens for guests. Although not inexpensive the stay was very comfortable.
Very nice hotel! It’s a 2 floor independent house of 134 sq meter, with 2 rooms and with indoor and outdoor private bath. The baths are so good especially the outdoor one you can enjoy under the snow. The facilities and amenities are very new, the welcome Japanese sweet is the best Japanese okashi I have ever tried! The hotel also provides different kinds of free drink like local sake, beer, fruit juice, vitamin drinks which are good to drink after hot bath! Breakfast is traditional Japanese dishes which taste good.Originally the hotel said we need to park at public parking but they arranged a free parking nearby. Thank to Shiho San to wait for us to check in late at 8pm, gave us a warm welcome and give us an detailed introduction of the house and nearby special shops like the winery, dessert shop etc.The neighbourhoods is so quiet, peaceful and beautiful, unlike the key area of Shirogawa-go or Takayama where there are many tourists. Here you can truly feel the calm quiet local atmosphere. Strongly recommend to stay at least 2 nights to enjoy staying the house and explore the nearby scenery, local restaurants and craft shops
Top notch accommodation in a quiet part of town. Try and arrive early because the roads are narrow and it might be difficult to find. Look for the canal and you’re on the right track. It’s next to Hair Salon Sepia. This is a premium property. We were a family of 6 and the house accommodated us well. There were ample towels, yukatas, drinks and juices. The house has 2 onsen bathtubs, one indoors and one outdoors. IORI exceeded all our expectations when we stayed here for 3 nites. The house is exactly as you see on the photos. We will definitely stay here again or with any of their other properties. Shinho our host was easily accessible and responded promptly to our queries. Do consider the dining option as many restaurants are closed in low season.

The management consists of a group of friendly young minds who are attending and thoughtful. There is a restaurant within a block for which we visited. It was nice. I would be very happy to visit this place again, and stay in the same house.

It is located in a quiet picturesque street. There's a watercourse in the street that has koi carp in them. The accommodation provides you with fish feed, so you can feed the koi which is really fun! The house has authentic features like an old fireplace and tatami rooms. Still the bathroom and kitchen are really new, so you have all the modern day conveniences. Breakfast (Japanese or Western) is delivered to your doorstep each morning, which is a great service. Also, the hosts are friendly and speak English fluently. So if you're looking to stay in an authentic, traditional place a little off the beaten track, his accommodation absolutely right for you!

The location is excellent right in the prime area. The host will pick you up at the station although you can walk a short distance. They allowed me to early checkin. The host speaks good English and will explain how the house and equipment work. Very unique experience to live in a Edo period house. Plenty of restaurants around the area.

Checked in 21 April 2026. Service was courteous and efficient from booking to check-in. Directed us to a parking lot nearby and introduced us to the house and surroundings. House was beautiful and baths were brilliant. Enjoyed the breakfast and dinners conveniently delivered with a smile. Great as a base to explore the Hida/Takayama area.
