For my 33rd birthday dinner I was hoping for something calm and cozy for me and my girlfriend, and I found exactly what I was looking for at Café Yamaboushi. This isn't a rowdy Izakaya where you yell across the table and cheer, instead it's a quiet spoken cozy restaurant with a living room atmosphere.The owners were incredibly sweet and welcoming. It genuinely felt like walking into someone's home and getting restaurant service. The service is slower because it's only one person cooking everything, but it was very manageable if you anticipate it. The waiter spoke a little English, but was ready to pop out a translation app if he needed it (which he only needed when we started chatting).Everything we ate and drank was prepared with care, and brought to us with a genuine smile. If I ever go back to Japan, the Yamanouchi area will be on my to-go list because of the experience I had in this restaurant.It was perfect.
※English translation is provided below.旅行がてら街を散策していたところ見つけて入店させていただきました。軽食のメニューがあるようでしたので、肌寒い日という事もありすき焼きうどんを注文しました。それがスープや具材すべてが美味しく、牛も信州和牛を使用していると店主が仰っていて、軽食一つにもこだわりが詰まっていて素敵なお店でした。お店の方も心優しく迎えてくださり、身も心も暖かになれる素晴らしい体験でしたので、ぜひ皆さんも訪れてみてください。While exploring the town during my travels, I stumbled upon this place and decided to stop in.Seeing they offered light meals, and since it was a chilly day, I ordered the sukiyaki udon.Everything—the broth and all the ingredients—was delicious. The owner mentioned they use Shinshu Wagyu beef, showing how much care goes into even a simple light meal. It was a wonderful shop.The staff welcomed me warmly, and it was a truly delightful experience that warmed both my body and soul. I highly recommend everyone visit.
籠御膳をいただきました。お野菜がきれいで美味しく、季節感ある御当地のお惣菜もとてもよいお味♪もち米 しゅうまいは大きくボリューミーながらふっくら柔らかく優しい味わいです。デザートの量もちょうど良いので、罪悪感なく満腹になり口福でした。雰囲気もおしゃれで感じの良いお店ですね。
お二人の優しい雰囲気で、カレーもとても美味しかったです。食後のリンゴジュースもおすすめです。
前回よりもお支払い方法が増えていましたお味よし、雰囲気よし、駐車場もあって、また行きたいです😊できればもう1時間営業時間が長いと嬉しい😆

GＷの最終日に伺いました。店主お二人でやっていらして、調理はお一人でされているようなので、時間にゆとりをもって行くのがいいと思います。人気があるので予約するのが良さそうです。私たちは予約せずにふらっと行ってしまい、ランチタイムですが予約が3組入っている感じでした。しかし、『ご予約のお客様がいらっしゃるので、お時間かかってしまいますけれど、どうぞ』と言っていただき入店しました。3人でそれぞれ、せいろ御膳とビーフシチューとクアトロフォルマッジのピザを注文。どれもとても美味しかったです。店主お二人の人柄がお店の雰囲気そのままだと思います。途中で外国のお客様がいらっしゃいましたが、店主の方が英語でメニューの説明やサービスをしていらして、とても素敵でした。次は予約して伺います。
